25.01.2022 Our coaches are well qualified and licensed for training our players. We believe that coaches can, and should, have a direct impact on quality of the football experiences of all players. Coaches at all levels play a crucial role in ensuring that football is an enjoyable experience for everyone, as well as laying the foundation for the development of better players. The Two Pathway system was introduced in 2007: The Community Pathway... The Advanced Pathway Community Pathway courses are specifically designed for the coaches who look after Participation players: these courses focus almost exclusively on the ‘Training’ pillar of the Coaching Expertise Model. Advanced Pathway courses are specifically designed for the coaches who work with Performance players: the courses are longer and much more intensive. These courses progressively develop all the elements of the Coaching Expertise Model. 24.01.2022 Hi everyone In some really exciting news, this year we will again team up with Football Victoria to run the Go Sevens Summer outdoor program. In addition, we will be offering a modified version for our younger age groups in U07-U09. Building on the success of last year’s program, this will be a great way to start playing football again after a lengthy period of lockdown.... This year’s program will run over six rounds from November 6 to December 11, pending government restrictions. Games will be at Ashy’s home of football, Dorothy Laver Reserve West. It will be a round robin format, with games on weekends and one night during the week. The competition will not just feature Ashy teams. It will be open to everyone in the community and other clubs, so it will be fun as well as competitive. Importantly, we will have FV appointed referees. For Go Sevens, we are planning to run leagues for: MiniRoos (10-12 years); Junior Boys and Girls; Senior Men and Women; and Masters. Please complete this jot form by 5pm Wednesday 21 October to register your interest as a player or as a team: https://form.jotform.com/212791001571851 You don’t have to enter in your current Ashburton team, as you may want to make up a team of friends. U07-U09 Players: For our younger players, we will run a modified program with smaller pitches and team sizes, so that everyone can get a kick and join in the fun. In this modified format we’ll run a round robin competition over the course of an hour, in which teams play multiple games. 20.01.2022 Wear it Purple Day 2020 Today! Wear it Purple Day is this Friday. Wear it Purple Day is about showing LGBTIQ+ young people that they have the right to be proud of who they are. It is about creating safe spaces in schools, universities, workplaces and public spaces to show LGBTIQ+ young people that they are seen and supported. Last year over 750 schools, community organisations and universities held events across Australia, and through the activities of schools that recogn...ise it, Wear it Purple Day reached an estimated 600,000 young people, seeing the respect, acceptance and inclusion that surrounds them. Wear it Purple was founded in 2010 as a community-wide response to the alarming number of LGBTQIA+ young people experiencing bullying and harassment because of their identity. 09.01.2022 Major Announcement Number 1: We are delighted to announce further details about our upcoming Go Sevens program. While the final decision surrounding the commencement date is yet to be made (pending government advice) we are now taking expressions of interest to secure your place in our brand new competition, scheduled for October. Each eight-team league will play a round-robin followed by finals at our new home of Ashy football, Dororthy Laver Reserve. Matches will be played ...under the lights during the week and over the weekend throughout the off-season. Matches will be staggered as much as possible to allow teams to compete in both our outdoor sevens and indoor futsal competitions.
