25.01.2022 A great article about The Coodabeen Champions as they approach their 40th year of broadcasting. And our great mate Andy Bellairs who is such an integral part of their current day success. https://footyology.com.au/robbing-the-stagecoach-40-years/

21.01.2022 SENIOR REGISTRATION IS OPEN! Cricket looms with a scheduled start date of 14th November. A summer of 40 over One Day Cricket for all teams, and Saturday only matches, plus a very long 2020 stuck indoors should be enough to inspire anyone and everyone to sign up and be ready to get amongst the action from Round 1! We have pro-rated all membership fees to take into consideration the compromised fixture, but with all local community clubs under more financial pressure than ever ...before, the timely and loyal support of our playing group is vital. With numbers across Seniors and Juniors looking very healthy, it is also essential that you are registered and paid up (or have a payment plan) to be eligible for selection. More details can be found in the image, and the link to register via mycricket is also found below. For any questions or concerns don't hesitate to reach out to any member of the Committee (tagged below) THANKYOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT -Bring on Summer 2020/21! https://www.playcricket.com.au/club-finder/club-details

21.01.2022 ATT: JUNIOR CRICKETERS & PARENTS Due to CV19, this coming season all players are required to bring their own equipment to cricket. We have prepared a short video to show you what you will need. We will have limited equipment to loan from the club so please reach out to Emily Wilhelm if there are some items you would like to borrow. https://youtu.be/m4I6ptXS8oo

20.01.2022 Vale Deano. One of the greats. A reason we love the game.

20.01.2022 Covid restrictions means training conditions may be a little different this year. Sharing balls etc may not be a thing. Who, other than Brendan Foley, is already preparing their net ball!?!

20.01.2022 A couple AWCC smooth movers have enjoyed birthdays this week! Can’t wait to see Christopher Lyons and Mark Robertson take to the field again this summer and keep the runs flowing!

19.01.2022 If these scenes overnight didn’t get the toes wiggling for some cricket action then nothing will! Training in October and matches in November.....cmon Melbourne!

19.01.2022 WILLOWTALK is back for another edition and a huge thanks to our Chief Editor Liam Sharp!

17.01.2022 Sweet 16 for Will Robertson! He’s already got a cabinet full of trophies but the journey at AWCC is only just beginning! Happy bday mate from everyone a AWCC!

15.01.2022 A huge Round 1 at AWCC has the boys on their tippy toes! Don’t miss training this week as we look to continue the good form in Round 2. Training tonight (Tuesday) at Ashy Park. https://youtu.be/YDLcuM5UIUI

12.01.2022 Cricket is coming! It’s looking like weekend of 13th November will be Match time for Seniors and Juniors! Meetings with ECA this week and we’ll share more information ASAP. A lot of work for the committee and coaches to do to get us ready over coming weeks and we’ll need everyone’s help. It’s going to be a different season, but no reason why it can’t be one of our best ever! Stay connected via FB and Team App.

12.01.2022 AWCC's PRESEASON ONLINE- Week 4: Batting stroke play What's the best kind of homework? Shadow batting! Our man Shalika Karunanayake with some quick and easy drills to help you remember the basic strokes. Do you have a good drill to share? Or perhaps you've got a question for our coaches Shalika and Grant Swift? There are no silly questions, ask away in the comments!... https://youtu.be/2OVJME_dlM0

11.01.2022 Ryan ‘Raz’ Powell was a Willows great and 1st XI premiership star. And after spending a number of years living in the Uk he is back in Australia and was great to see him at Past Players Day/Flag reunion a couple years ago. Raz was famous for running into bowl with a pocket full of coins. At the time it was funny. But it seems his heavy pockets were doing some damage and so we wish Raz alll the best as he undergoes and then speedily recovers from major Hip surgery! With a couple of big Dunstan Shield Premiership Reunions (2010/11 and 2000/01) to celebrate this year- we can’t wait to see a huge bunch of former AWCC and EWCC players get back to the club they love for a drink and catchup with great old mates. Stay tuned for details but hopefully in February we’ll be able to get together on mass!

10.01.2022 A hard earned thirst for the 1st XI after a very strong win in Round 2. 1sts, 2nds and 3rds all undefeated as we roll towards Round 3! Great performances today from Ollie, Pauly and Shanlika but it’s a team playing together and doing us all very proud! Let’s ensure another big week on the track and embrace the momentum we have across all the grades.

07.01.2022 Not just today, but everyday. Stay connected AWCC. Being part of a club like ours is more important right now than ever.

07.01.2022 More good news! And Senior Registrations will open this weekend so stay tuned! https://www.heraldsun.com.au//6f240daf5223c648c5d73d32255d

05.01.2022 Reason to be optimistic....all roads lead to training in October and matches in November! https://www.heraldsun.com.au//3bef1cb6550260102bf088290805

05.01.2022 A huge Congrats to Chris Gorman and Will Robertson who have both made the ECA Under 16s Representative Squad. Good luck boys- we know you’ll do us all proud!

05.01.2022 HELP OUT YOUR CLUB, and WIN A NEW CAR! https://toyotagoodforcricket.raffletix.com.au/ashburtonwill

02.01.2022 Look after your own finances, and help your club's at the same time! Kathy and the team at Bendigo Bank have been great supporters for so long, so lets make sure that we support them. Your Local Bank has never been so important so reach out to Kathy or pop up to High St and introduce yourself as a fellow Willow!

02.01.2022 There are a lot of variables we can’t control; but let’s remain connected and committed over coming weeks as our summer of cricket will be kicking off before too long!

01.01.2022 ROUND 2 SIDES SET FOR SUCCESS! After a fantastic first week of cricket, and another big effort on the training track with great numbers getting along, we go into Round 2 with 4 very strong sides selected and looking to build on the winning momentum! Some AWCC icons will be padding up for the first time in a while, whilst there is also a couple of debutants donning the mighty green and blue. If you aren’t playing but want to be, make sure you pop into Ashy Park next week for training and maybe even a post session ale. There is competition for spots! Lets do ourselves and our club proud again this Saturday gents and really look forward to seeing everyone back at Ferndale Park after play to celebrate a few wins! (PS if you need to contact your skipper for any reason please see phone numbers posted in last week’s selection post)
