20.01.2022 The Shoalhaven is currently experiencing a large increase in the potentially fatal Canine Parvo Virus, a highly contagious illness that affects dogs. A Discount... Vaccination Day will be held this Wednesday 11 January 2017 from 9am - 4pm at Lyrebird Park (112 Jervis Street, Nowra East) hosted by Bomaderry Veterinary Hospital, North Nowra Veterinary Hospital and Nowra Veterinary Hospital. Vaccinations will be $20 per dog. For enquiries, phone Bomaderry Veterinary Hospital on 4421 3133. If you are concerned that your dog is unwell, DO NOT ATTEND the vaccination day - contact your local vet ASAP. Canine Parvo Virus symptoms include: - Vomiting - Foul smelling bloody diarrhoea - Loss of weight - Depression - Dehydration - Hypothermia If you suspect your pet has any of the symptoms above, contact your local vet ASAP. Parvo virus can survive in the environment for over 6mths. It is HIGHLY contagious. Young puppies or unvaccinated dogs are more susceptible to contracting this disease, however dogs of any age can be affected.
