23.01.2022 Two long-serving Board members have retired last month and at the end of yesterday's markets we took a moment to give them a certificate of appreciation on behalf of the Ashby Community. You may have seen Jill Lee and David Briscoe working in the kitchen during past markets, and you may have tasted their famous home-baked slices and pies, but we can assure you that they did MUCH more than that. As one of just 3 remaining Board members, they also took care of the maintenance..., bookkeeping, annual reports, Hall hire, markets and other community gatherings, cleaning, insurance, volunteer recruiting and management etc. It is really thanks to them, and all other former Board members and volunteers, that the Ashby community still has a beautiful Hall & Reserve today. To think that the first Trust was formed in 1984 to make this happen and that the Hall and Kitchen and playground were built by the community in 1995....these volunteers have certainly left us a great legacy! As new Crown Land Managers, we realise these are big shoes to fill, but we'll do our best to pay it forward! Jill and David, we salute you!

19.01.2022 Do you feel like treating yourself or the family for breakfast? Come to our Bush Café & Markets in a charming nature reserve with playground. Bring your picnic rug or camping chairs, grab a tea or coffee and pick your favourite from our new menu, made by our Board members Barbara Rigg, Victoria Gravell and Julie Turner and finetuned and priced up by our multi-talented local chef Chris Smith, who is also one of our local firefighters and even helped with the shopping! Can’t ch...oose? Food is served until noon, so there is plenty of time to try multiple dishes, all served take-away style due to the Covid health measures. See you there?

19.01.2022 And we’re back...! The Bush Café & Markets had a GREAT turn out this morning, with people coming from all over the Clarence Valley to get a taste of bush living and grab a bargain. The locals also enjoyed the chance to socialise again after a year of fires, floods, lockdowns etc. Since we have opened under new management and with a new menu and some new volunteers and stallholders, we would really appreciate your feedback. If you visited the markets and/or the outdoor café, t...ell us what you think in the comments below, or message this page or send an email to [email protected] Good or less good, we’d like to hear from you...but please keep in mind that this was a soft reopening and we’re still getting used to this. How was your experience with our: -café & menu -markets -communications -facilities -other...? This is your chance to help us improve (or to simply thank the volunteers, who worked incredibly hard to make this happen!)

13.01.2022 In case you missed it...take the digital 'tour'. Just some of the beautiful people & moments that made the Ashby Bush Café & Markets shine today... Want to experience the real deal? It's on each third Sunday of the month, so we are back on Sunday Feb 21, 7am-noon. Bush Café open from 8am.

05.01.2022 Meet some of our colourful stallholders. All set up and ready to welcome you at the Ashby Markets, Lismore Street, Ashby.
