22.01.2022 If you find yourself getting stuck throughout your day, try taking a short break. Sometimes we can spin the wheels but get no traction. If you feel this way, a brief timeout can be helpful.
22.01.2022 You can’t wait for life to not be a struggle anymore before you decide to be happy. Even if it’s 2% good. That’s better than 0.

02.01.2022 Do you connect with your child before you correct them? Remember Dr. John Gottman's advice for couples: understanding must precede advice. The same is true for ...conversations between caregivers and children. Think back to a time when you didn't feel heard. Perhaps a loved one jumped into problem-solving mode or corrected you before you could fully express yourself. How did that feel? How might the interaction change if you felt heard and understood? If you don’t get the response you want when you reach out to your young one, step back and watch how you start the conversation. Are you asking open-ended questions? Are you creating an environment in which your child can share what's on their mind? Seek first to understand. Advice and problem-solving can come after. Dr. Laura Markham offers communication tips to help your family grow closer on our Gottman Relationship Blog: https://bit.ly/3zsyL63
