25.01.2022 If you haven't seen it already, this is a great show to watch with the kids. How would your child go in charge of your family's budget?!
24.01.2022 You will see from our news feed that Ashfield Public School has an amazing relationship with local businesses, who have supported us so enthusiastically and generously. These are difficult times for us all but particularly small business. We hear you and we will be doing our bit to support the amazing local businesses that have had our back over the past few years. Ashfield Public School community please stay local and buy local.
24.01.2022 Kids in the Ashfield and Canterbury High School catchment areas have NO co-ed high school option. I strongly believe that parents should have the choice if they... don't wish for their child to attend a single-sex school. Sarah Mitchell MLC must provide parents with the option for a co-ed education in this high school catchment area.
23.01.2022 The new hangout for Ashfield parents seems to be Miss Celie's on Hercules St. Yes, Ashfield has a proper bar! Started by one of our lovely families, get along to support this wonderful local business. https://www.facebook.com/missceliesbar/
22.01.2022 I know that our school has been preparing and staying ahead of the curve so that kids can learn online but this detailed post from a local Inner West community member seems really useful right about now! It's great to take this opportunity to explore all these wonderful resources!
21.01.2022 Thank you to all the families who have been able to continue to support Badalya under these very uncertain & trying times We know there are a lot of familie...s away, & many taking strain in these crazy times. If Badalya can help in anyway please reach out to us and we will do our best to help & support you!! There are also many families in our school community who have their own businesses & who need our support now more than ever. #thankyou #strongertogether #supportlocal #thisisourcommunity #crazytimes
21.01.2022 We've been contacted by a former student who is trying to connect with someone called Tegan (last name not known) who moved up from Melbourne and went to APS in Kindy and Year 1 between 1994-1996. Tegan, if you are that person please send us a private message and we will give you the details of the person looking for you. We will not provide any details about you and for privacy reasons it is not recommended to post anything publicly in the comments.
21.01.2022 Here's to the teachers. We love you. https://youtu.be/1f7OwFqTnco
20.01.2022 This was organised by the wonderful Blair Callon from the school's Badalya canteen. At a time when most of us were just trying to get through the day in one piece she has been working hard in the background trying to help those who are doing it really tough. Blair and Phil set up Badalya from scratch less than a year ago serving our kids very fresh and healthy food cooked on site. They have been one of the greatest assets for our school and a hub of activity and good will. Thanks x
19.01.2022 Brilliant work from Scholastic for children isolated from school during Covid-19! Get started at https://classroommagazines.scholastic.com//learnathome.html
19.01.2022 The Gymnastics Revolution in Summer Hill was about to celebrate its first anniversary when Covid hit. Like many local businesses it went into a forced hiatus. But it's back! Classes are running again (with hygiene routines in place), birthday parties are being held and it has a school holiday program starting tomorrow. Several APS families have held birthday parties there in the last couple of weeks and have reported great-value parties, which the kids have loved!
16.01.2022 Wonderful, Jo Haylen. Ashfield kids, please join in and get your pens and paper out!
16.01.2022 DJ Jimmy Trifti has helped make our school disco happen for 2 years running. Please tune in for some toe tapping boredom busting toons and support this local business who has supported us.
15.01.2022 Our school is strong and our sense of community is unbreakable. Please, if you'd like to do something to help others, know that donating a box of produce right now will make so much difference to another family in need. Thanks Badalya for coordinating this.
14.01.2022 The P&C general meeting is on at 5.30pm via Zoom link. The link has been sent via school enews. Hear from our teachers and Principal Damien Moran about important school activities and updates. Also on the agenda is our plans for the new huge solar panel system and a defibrillator for the school. See you there!
13.01.2022 Long-time supporters of APS and former school parents Anni and Matthew of Milk & Honey Photography are documenting this extraordinary time in our community with a Humans of New York style series - From The Street Documentary Portraits. If you would like to participate - get in touch with them. What a great idea!

11.01.2022 Kids looking for something to do this week? LEGO Masters Australia is running a daily lego building competition. Each day has a new challenge and another prize to be won.
11.01.2022 School holidays start on Friday and for nearly all of us they will be very similar to what's been happening for the last week or two - staying home! Luckily, one of our regular APS supporters Kidz Artworx has modified all their school holiday workshops so they can be done at home - via video chat. All the materials will be provided (contactless pick up or delivery) and step-by-step instructions will be given via video. If you have a child in your family who needs a creative outlet these holidays, click this link to find out more>> https://kidzartworx.com.au//april-school-holiday-workshop/ And thank you to Kidz Artworx for their ongoing support of Ashfield Public School.
10.01.2022 Are you going to attend the special workshop on resilience for our school community? Another wonderful initiative by our school principal Damien Moran. See you via Zoom on Thursday night!!

08.01.2022 Stay safe everyone.
05.01.2022 We got mail! The kids were so excited this afternoon to get special mail direct from their teachers and with a school award for each of them. Thank you Ashfield PS teachers! You are the BEST! See you Monday:)

04.01.2022 Dear Ashfield community, Like you we have been watching this current Coronavirus pandemic unfold & quite frankly there are no words to describe how surreal this... all feels. For the last few days there have been insane crowds trying to get the last few items from each grocery store, shelves are empty & so much for social distancing! Badalya in conjunction with The School Food Project have been working around the clock to try & finds ways we can help our community during these uncertain & stressful times So today we are officially launching: - A take-home meal service - Ability to order fresh fruit & veggie boxes through us - Ability to order some pantry items through us such as eggs, wraps, pasta & rice Please note we are still sourcing products....loo paper being one of them. If there are any products that you would like us to source for you please let us know & we will do our best to help you. At this stage these services will remain open during the holidays. You can order now at www.quickcliq.com.au or order in person at the canteen. As we are just getting this up & running we ask that you order by 2pm this Sunday for collection at the canteen 3pm Monday Thereafter we are looking at next day pick up for orders. Menu & price lists are available at the canteen & will be sent home in school bags. Also please extend this service to friends & family in our community. If anyone is unable to pick up we can deliver for an extra cost (please contact the canteen for further information on delivery options). Stay Safe Blair X
