14.01.2022 Some more hoof casting today. What a great solution to broken sore and hard to nail to feet. This horse was 3/5 lame when she walked in. 100% sound when she walked away. Great result. Also who doesn’t love pink.....

11.01.2022 Yesterday what was supposed to be just a lost shoe turned out to be a much bigger problem. This horse not only removed his shoe but also the wall on both sides leaving not much hoof to nail a shoe on. But at Ashford ridge equine we are always equipped for anything that pops up. Applied a cast to the foot nailed up the shoe with a little equilox and the good old boy trotted away happy. Just another successful outcome at Ashford ridge equine.

11.01.2022 Been a while since we have posted here for everyone. But 2020 a few changes are happening and we will try to make our social media presence felt. Had one of our smaller clients in today 3 month old mini with a contracted Deep digital flexor tendon. Applied a toe extension with polymorph granules and equilox. Should help starting to stretch that tendon and be on the road to a great life. Being spoilt and cheeky. ... We take pride in helping all cases big and small. And this is one of our smaller friends. If you think we can help you with your shoeing or therapeutic needs don’t hesitate to contact us for a free consultation. Cheers Ash

11.01.2022 Happy new year to all our valued clients. 2019 is set for another fantasy year ahead. There are some exciting changes for us which will not only make our job a little easier but will give you and your beloved horses the best service possible. To start the year here is a quick look at our new year rehab case. Filly with severely damaged lateral heel quarter. Aluminium bar shoe to stabilise the hoof and help heal the wound a little more efficiently. If you have these sort of injuries this is a good way to help the hoof capsule. We at fast feet farriers are always happy to help if we can so give us a message on our page and we will get back to you with the best advice we can.

11.01.2022 Today we embarked on a new technique of hoof casting. Sometimes we just don’t have enough hoof wall to safely drive nails into. So by using a hoof cast we can stabilise the foot and apply a shoe without any further invasion of the hoof capsule. If your horse is nail sensitive or lacking good hoof structure maybe this is a technique that can help you.

11.01.2022 Today we were asked to fit a hospital or treatment plate to a horse that had a pedal bone infection. Came up a treat. Just another service we offer at Ashford ridge equine where it’s all about getting the best outcome for your horse.

08.01.2022 Hand made shoes for the lovely wee Jasper. Thanks for bringing her over Julia

08.01.2022 It’s best made when it’s handmade. Didn’t have exactly what I was after for this lovely boy. 12 inches of 20x10 rolled toe and some heel support. Good luck tomorrow Amy & Jenny Bachmann

07.01.2022 Just a little forge time making a shoe for some very special people.

04.01.2022 Hi guys I’m having some trouble accessing the fb page. If you have messaged me and no reply please contact me direct through fb Ashley McKnight CF. Of mag my mobile 0419356185. Cheers.

02.01.2022 So the old adage of good work ain’t cheap. Cheap work ain’t good. Could not be closer to the truth. A client today brought her horse in to be shod in front. Told me it was shod 4 weeks ago but never looked right. She was right not only was it poorly shod but also making the horse uncomfortable and potentially un sound. Now I am a big believer in the basics will never let you down. We go through a simple process with every shoeing here at Ashford ridge equine. ... 1. Assessment 2. Discussion with the client 3. Shoeing plan 4. Trim and balance 5. Application of shoeing package 6. Owner feedback. We pride ourselves in having sound horses and that is the only thing that matters. Next time your thinking about the cost you pay for your horse and am I paying too much. Ask yourself am I getting what I’m paying for.... Have a great day and may all your horses be sound and happy
