24.01.2022 As a hometown girl I’m sad today for our community & the way that January in our town of Tamworth makes me feel. As an artist I am sad today & really feeling for all artists, musicians, sound crew, stage hands, venues, managers, buskers and all the event staff organisers - the list goes on as to who will feel the hit from This after what has already been a challenging time..... As a music lover my self I am sad alongside the fans & families who make sure that a trip to Tamworth in January is a Must do to hear the music from their favourite acts and also find new music from upcoming talent.. I grew up with the festival in my backyard - literally my Grandparents Rex & Adrienne had a venue on the family property that welcomed guests each & every day as we hosted shows ( the caramel slice that was made by Mum was just as much as an attraction to the music!) I can still remember the buzz I felt every time my parents took me into Peel Street & along to shows - I knew this is what I wanted to do & something I had hoped to always be a part of. So many wonderful memories for me begin with the line - at Tamworth, at the TCMF festival, sharing moments with friends in song, making history with my family at the Golden Guitar Awards - none of these things i take for granted & now more so than ever. We even welcomed our Daughter Harriet in the middle of 2019’s festival - it would seem I have always just been connected to it. It’s certainly going to be strange not preparing for the festivities & the impact On the local economy & mental health for many across several industries & people is something that is very real & needs to be supported, talked about with out stigma or disrespect. Every year we aim with big plans & often we launch them at Tamworth & we had a show planned for you all in 2021 which made me so excited about what we were going to be presenting -but that means now 2022 at TCMF is going to be MASSIVE ! Like many events that are going to need our support when things can return back to normal - I look forward to seeing you in my Hometown of Tamworth in 2022 to celebrate 50 years of history & celebrate the future as we will fill the streets, venues & mountains with that sweet sound of music Tamworth Country Music Festival Let’s all take care - let’s be there for one another & be kind. To my friends if you need a chat- pick up the phone & call me. Love to you all Ps...Looks like i May have to drive to the Akubra factory as I seem to buy a new hat in Peel Street each year... Ha. X

PS I forgot to mention the reason why we are changing the bed sheets etc is a little someone found my new Tinted Face sunscreen and thought the bed spread was at risk of being sunburnt today..

15.01.2022 Today is @ruokday day - a question we need to keep asking every day and be ready to listen to whatever the answer may be respectfully, lovingly and encourage the conversation around mental health /suicide prevent to be continue to help save lives... I am OK -I absolutely have days where I struggle with anxiety and get way into my head - but I’ve learnt to accept these moments a lot quicker than the 19 year old Ash would have. I used to also think it was better i deal with those moments on my Own.. We all have feelings , we all have battles - and mental health is no competition. So let’s be there for a conversation that could change a life and spread kindness and love to everyone
