15.01.2022 Ever heard someone say I stopped eating carbs and lost a bunch of weight!? Carbs alone will NOT make you gain weight nor will not eating them make you lose weight. To put it simply, if you eat too many carbs you will gain weight. Just the same as if you eat too much fat or too much protein. Weight gain is simply energy in > energy out. ... If you consume less energy than what you are burning then you will lose weight. If you balance that, you will remain the same, and if you eat more than you are burning, then you will gain weight. Carbohydrates are not the enemy!! They are a macronutrient, meaning they are essential for optimal health and nutrition. HIIT involves performing high-intensity activities for short periods of time at up to 95% of your max heart rate, with periods of rest. Most HIIT workouts can be completed in 20 minutes or less. Sprints, circuits and tabata are all great examples of HIIT Pros burn more calories in shorter amount of time - great for busy individuals increases metabolic rate preserves muscle mass higher EPOC effect - enables body to burn calories even after you finish working out (anaerobic) Cons taxing on the body, and therefore can take longer to recover increased risk of injury can lead to overtraining L.I.S.S = Low Intensity Steady State LISS is the most common form of cardio. It involves the repetition of the same movement for long periods of time while maintaining a moderate heart rate (around 40-60%). LISS involves few (if any) rest periods. Walking, jogging, rowing, cycling and swimming are all great examples of LISS. Workouts generally last 30-60 minutes (or more!) By posting this comparison I just wanted to show you that even though the calories/macros don’t vary toooo much for one tablespoon of peanut butter for each of these brands. Some do! ... Whilst one tablespoon of peanut butter is roughly 112-136 cals, how many of us realistically have more than that?!
