22.01.2022 At a time of year when things start to get busy, it is important to make time to slow things down. Mindfulness allows us to spend some time in the moment or ‘non-doing’ which can boost our mental and physical health in many ways including: - Decreasing symptoms of anxiety and depression, - stress reduction, - reducing rumination, emotional reactivity and psychological distress, - increasing working memory, focus and cognitive flexibility, and,... - improving relationship satisfaction, wellbeing, and immune functioning Mindfulness is a way of being encompassing: noticing and observing, being present and fully engaged, being interested and curious in your experience, being non-judgmental and non critical and, focusing on one thing at a time. It is present moment awareness with acceptance of thoughts, feelings and physical sensations. Mindfulness can be practiced through mindful meditation, engaging our senses in nature or by being present in an activity we are doing at that moment. #mindfulness #mindful #mindfulmeditation #mindfulactivities #mentalhealth #psychologicalbenefits #takingcareofyou

15.01.2022 We all have mental health. It is important to take care of all facets of ourselves- our physical health; mental, emotional and psychological health and our spiritual health. These are all interconnected. Caring for our mental health includes sleep, diet and exercise, the 3 main pillars for our mental health; routine as we humans are creatures of habit; value-led activities and relaxation; and connection with self and others.... Therapy and psychological intervention is an important part of many people’s mental health care. This gives you a safe space to discuss caring for mental health as well as focusing on your thoughts, feelings and behaviours to promote change. Take care of yourself, you deserve it! #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #takecareofyourself #psychology #emotionalwellbeing #therapysession #psychologicalintervention

15.01.2022 ***At a time where we are being constantly bombarded with helpful and unhelpful ideas to ‘get us through the COVID-19 Pandemic’, there is no right or wrong, it’s about working out what works best for you. It’s ok to figure it as you go, it’s ok for trial and error, it’s ok to play around with options, it’s ok to not know and take it day by day! You do you, take your time and be kind to yourself*** * * *... #gettingthough #gettingthroughit #youdoyou #trialanderror #daybyday #takingtime #kindnesselves #selfkindness #everyonehasopinions See more

13.01.2022 And we’re back...with my goal in 2021 - ‘intention’ Intention is a mental state - a commitment to carrying out an action or an idea that you plan (intend) to carry out, with meaning and forethought. It is my intention of 2021 to engage mindfully in meaningful activities and actions that add value to my life - more thought and planning into what I spend more of my time doing and others of which to attend less that are mindless, distraction or do not add to my quality of life ...in that moment. This may vary moment to moment. It may not always be the easiest option but it also does not mean that I will deny myself certain activities (social media comes to mind here!) It is about intentionally choosing to do that activity rather than engaging it in mindlessly. It’s about asking myself ‘What do I need right now?’ It’s also about committing to my plan for each day and week that encompasses the activities that are important for me, my wellbeing, my mental and physical health, my relationships, my work and business and my growth. What is your intention for 2021? Do you have a goal/goals for this year? What activities do you intend to do this year or what would you like carry out? #intention #intentionalliving #intentionalaction #goals #goals2021 #commitment #planningahead #mentalstate #mentalhealth #meaning #qualityoflife #wellbeingmatters #mindfulnessmatters #minfulliving #shoalhavensmallbusiness #southcoastnswaustralia
