19.01.2022 It is always nice to get a daytime foaling and today we were very lucky to witness this one. Mia Cat Dancer (USA), an imported stakes winning mare and dam of the Gr 3 ATC Concorde Stakes winner Wouldnt It Be Nice, had a beautiful colt by the young Godolphin stallion Shooting To Win.

19.01.2022 Ashleigh Thoroughbreds are proud to present their draft of yearlings for the January Magic Millions 2020 yearling sale. As you can see they are a gorgeous group of yearlings who have been very popular with anyone attending the on farm inspections leading up to the Sale.

19.01.2022 Our first batch of foals came in for weaning on Monday. Weaned on Wednesday and here are some photos of what they have learnt so far. All handling really well and this is the Your Song - Bay Trixie colt.

14.01.2022 The Hunter Valley is experiencing one of the most severe droughts in years with many farmers struggling. In some cases the only option is to sell off stock. It is slightly different with the Thoroughbred Industry where selling breeding stock is not a viable option. Most Thoroughbred broodmare farms in the Scone area are purchasing fodder and in some cases even water, to insure the stock are looked after. We are lucky to still have a reliable water supply but if these conditions don't improve we may also be faced with the the prospect of having to purchase water.

13.01.2022 The Ingls Easter Yearling Sale is just around the corner with the catalogue being released this week. Scheduled for the 4th, 5th and 6th of April means that the Ashleigh yearlings are well into their preparation. Selling under the Southern Cross Breeders banner, the farm has an eclectic group of 12 horses to offer by leading proven sires I Am Invincible, Sebring, More Than Ready, Medaglia D'Oro, Written Tycoon and Stratum as well as a lovely filly by the same sire as She Will... Reign in Manhattan Rain. Also included in the mix are yearlings by exciting young stallion prospects Smart Missile (currently heading the 2nd season sire list), So You Think and Pierro. Exciting 1st season sires represented are Zoustar, Dundeel, Declaration of War and Epaulette who all proved popular with buyers at the recent Magic Millions yearling sale. So you could say 'Ashleigh have it covered' with something for everyone. Below is a photo of the Easter colts grazing happily during their daily early morning turnout time.

10.01.2022 The 2016 foaling season has come to a close at Ashleigh Thoroughbreds :) All the foals are going through their education process at the moment. These are the three youngest foals being taught to lead beside their Mum's.

07.01.2022 GRACEFIELD PARK FANTASTIC MR FOX The latest addition to the stallion ranks of the Upper Hunter is our gorgeous young Connemara stallion Gracefield Park Fantastic Mr Fox aka TEDDY. Purchased to replace our previous teaser pony Dougal, who sadly passed away last year, Teddy will be ready to cover a select number of mares next season. Bred by Jayne Ramaker, Teddy is by Glemormiston Slipper out of Celtic Fairytale with is Gransire being the imported stallion Abbeyleix Finbar and Great Grandsire on the dams side the imported Mylerstown Huckleberry Finn.

04.01.2022 Ashleigh Thoroughbreds scooped the pool on the vendor front yesterday at the HTBA Inglis Scone Yearling Sale. Leading by aggregate ($227,000) and average for three or more horses sold ($56,750) and supplying the day's top Lot. The beautiful Wandjina x Galleries filly, selling as Lot 20, topped the sale making $110,000. The rest of our results are as follows: Lot 18 Deep Field x Flying First Class filly - $54,000 Lot 159 Smart Missile - Atatood filly - $28,000 Lot 179 Uncle Mo - Cerinthe filly - 35,000 Wishing all purchasers the best of luck with all the fillies.
