25.01.2022 Google: " So if you significantly improve your website then it's not that from one crawl to the next crawl we will say oh this is a fantastic website now. It's something we're probably over the course of a year maybe sometimes even longer our algorithms have to learn that actually this is a much better website than we thought initially." 18.01.2022 Q: I was just asked if its best to retain the same Google Analytics code when a website is rebuilt (same domain name) or to start again with new GA code. A: Yes, keep the same code for comparison purposes for sure. I can’t recall ever restarting analytics with a new website rebuild. Specifically you’ll be able to compare time on site, pages viewed per sessions and bounce rates which will give some indication of improvement of the new site over the old in terms of visitor retention, even if URLs etc have changed.

13.01.2022 Did you know less than 15% of websites pass the Google Web Vitals test? Next year, Google will be rolling out its web vitals update which will be pretty big. This update will measure 3 things relating to the user’s experience of a webpage. 1) The speed at which the webpage’s content loads 2) The speed at which users can interact with the page... 3) How often users will experience an unexpected shift in the content of the page Interestingly, Screaming Frog has completed an analysis of 20000 URLs and found that 12% of Mobile and 13% of Desktops currently meet these benchmarks. So, plenty of work to do. Source: https://www.screamingfrog.co.uk/passing-the-cwv-assessment/ #AshleyBryan #webstrats #SEO #SEOsunshinecoast #Google

13.01.2022 If you improve your website from an SEO perspective, do you need to wait for the next Google Algorithm update to see these changes reflected in your rankings? According to Google, the answer is NO. Google's algorithm works on a constant refresh so improvements will be reflected quickly and your rankings would increase. The bigger "Core Algorithm Updates" that Google makes several times a year will change the search results more generically and you would be impacted by those if these bigger changes affect you. For example when Google rolls out the Web Vitals update next year, websites with unstable content may see their rankings drop overnight, but if that issue is improved then they could recover before the next core update. 09.01.2022 Shipping Container FAQ Q: Are Shipping Containers Fire Rated? A: Shipping containers are made from very strong galvanized steel, so they are not only extremely tough and weather proof, but highly fire resistant as well. Shipping containers have been known to withstand fierce Australian bushfires, and even the fire brigade use containers for training drills. While a standard shipping container is indeed highly fire resistant, a rating won’t be applied if the container is not insulated. Dangerous goods or hazardous goods shipping containers, on the other hand, have been purpose built to house things as combustible as explosives and as hazardous as toxic chemicals. https://www.tigercontainers.com//why-shipping-containers-/ #shippingcontainers #TigerContainers

09.01.2022 Wondering why your Google My Business posts can be seen in your GMB account but not live on your Knowledge Panel? I had this problem and finally found the solution: the business had too many categories listed. Remove some categories and watch it all start to work. Whew: there's 2 hours I can't get back...

08.01.2022 Are you doing some SEO, onsite optimisation, blogging etc but asking yourself why your website isn't on page #1 of the search results? Try this: 1. Do a search for your phrase of interest 2. Look at the results on the first page 3. Ask yourself: should you be in that set of results? Ie are you sure this result set is relevant to your content? 4. Look at the websites already listed there. How "authoritative" are they? Is your website as important/authoritative/strong branded?... You'll know. If not you'll have more work to do! 5. If your website should be there in these results, then look at some of the top ranking websites. Search on their name. Where are they mentioned, what websites? What social media presence do they have? This is what you need to be doing also ie grow your authority and brand. You can't beat a strong competitor on Google unless you convince Google that you should be there, by doing what the top results are doing, but more so, and better. I'm happy to do a quick assessment for you for free. Send me your search term and web address: https://websitestrategies.com.au/contact-me/ #SEO #Google #Webstrats See more
