16.01.2022 A promotional Speedway Match of Nations - not to be confused with the FIM Speedway of Nations - was hosted at Lodz, Poland overnight. Four teams took part inclu...ding the Kangaroos made up of Rohan Tungate (Pelaw Main), Sam Masters (Newcastle NSW), Brady Kurtz (Cowra) and German guest Ben Ernst. The other teams were Wolves, Scandinavia and Eagles. The event was abandoned after heat 5 due to rain with the Kangaroos (11) declared the winners. Eagles were second (9), then Scandinavia (7) and Wolves (3). The incessant wet weather in Poland continues to disrupt the speedway season. The League 2 match between Rawicz and Krosno was abandoned after heat 8 with the away team Krosno declared the winners 32 - 16. Australia's Keynan Rew (Queensland) scored 2 points with 1 2nd in his only two rides. Two League 1 matches were postponed - Gniezno v Torun and Bydgoszcz v Ostrovia - the latter for the second time. Leicester Lions 15 year older Dan Thompson won round 5 of the British Youth Speedway Championship at Belle Vue, Manchester and in so doing was crowned 2020 Champion. 15.01.2022 NSW Speedway Championships - CHANGE OF DATE After much thought and in consultation with Motorcycling NSW, in the best interest of the sport, the decision has be...en made to postpone the NSW 500cc & U16 125cc Championships scheduled for 5 December 2020 and reschedule the Championships which will now include the U21's and U16 250cc speedway titles. Four Speedway Titles over 2 nights - Friday 12 February 2021 (U21's & 250cc) and Saturday 13 February 2021 (500cc & U16 125cc). This will be a massive Weekend of Speedway, so save the date. Hopefully, by this time, current Covid-19 restrictions will be further eased including enabling all riders to compete and spectator numbers increased.

07.01.2022 - After riding for 20 years, Antonio Lindbäck says, thank you. Now it's time for a new chapter in my life. After 20 years as an elite rider, I choose to thank f...or me. I'm done with the speedway sport as a rider. 2020 has been a special year. For my own part has the setbacks have been more than the successes. This has made me think about my future. The answers I received are that I now want to do something else. I am happy and proud of what I have accomplished during my career as a speedway rider. I could hardly have had a better end than the Swedish Championship gold with my mother club Masarna. The Grand Prix winners in Terenzano, Torun and Cardiff are of course banging loudly, as are the two gold medals for Sweden in the team World Cup. Elite League champion in England twice and Swedish Championship gold individually as both junior and senior. Many memorable competitions internationally and at home. I will miss the oval, the smell of methanol and the sound of bicycles being warmed up in the pit. To feel the adrenaline pumping when the tape goes up and not least the audience's cheers when it went well. Speedway has been a big part of my life and will always be close to my heart. Now I look forward to spending time with my family, accompanying the children to training, having a Friday relax, yes all that that belongs to family life. Thanks! Toninho
