22.01.2022 The youngest volunteer ever, was clearing branches blown down by the strong wind last night on local sidewalks.

21.01.2022 Sharing this impressive photo with you. I took it in early Spring 2004 in Lindau, a beautiful town on the north side of Bodensee, which borders Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The elder man was playing his puppets music machine. "Mit viel Liebe und Geduld habe ich ...... gebaut" -- "With Love and Patience I have made this..." He donated all of his income from playing to SOS international children village!

19.01.2022 Also volunteers of AAV joined the search arranged by AEAAI to support police and SES overnight!

19.01.2022 Selected volunteer activities of AAV in August 2020.

17.01.2022 Each day frontline workers anxiously watch the Covid case numbers, knowing that some will end up in their care. Victoria's Austin Hospital has opened its doors to give us a look at the brave staff battling the relentless second wave. #9News | Nightly at 6.00pm

15.01.2022 AAV aims to help out local communities especially the elderly and vulnerable groups by home visiting, psychological couselling, mental health support, small fixing and repair, outdoor activities and further more. We seek and arrange funding from philanthropic organisations and private donors! Every dollar counts for a better world!

15.01.2022 It was reported that a 24-years old Monash student ran away from home on Sunday afternoon due to some mental issues caused by Covid-19. His roommates went out for searching him and AAV/AEAAI volunteers were also helping out by contacting emergency service and Consulate General. Finally he was found by police in Malvern area after more than 8 hours search.

14.01.2022 DURING PANDEMIC YOU CAN DO MUCH MORE THAN YOU IMAGINE TO HELP PEOPLE! Think about elderly friends, neighbours and people with disabilities in your community and how you can support each other during a period of self-isolation. If you are not currently in self-isolation but others around you are, think about what you could do to help them out,... for example; gardening, dog walking, delivering food and necessities. If you have not previously met your neighbours, think about the best way to approach them while maintaining physical distancing. For example, instead of going to the front door, you could leave a note in your neighbour’s letterbox with your name, phone number and offer of assistance. See more

10.01.2022 Help Save Children in China! As more and more parents move into China’s urban centers in search of economic opportunity, an increasing proportion of children are left behind in the countryside, in overcrowded boarding schools or with relatives who lack the means and knowledge needed to take care of them. In the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak, our teams are doing everything we can to build plans to keep children protected and healthy. ... A member of the Asian Australian Volunteers, recently presented a gift to the Changyuan Primary School in Yinhan Town, Pengan County, Nanchong City of Sichuan Province on behalf of the AAV and Spark Education Assistance Group(SEAG). The gift included one month supply of Germany made Oldenburger milk powder for 66 students and an electric scale to measure weight and height. The milk powder supply will be followed by other NFP organisations like Tongji Alumni Association of Germany. We hope the milk powder could help the children grow up healthy and well. We will continue to support Changyuan PS in appropriate ways.

08.01.2022 During the Coronavirus pandemic numerous groups and people made money donations to our local hospitals to support them to provide the best possible care on the front line. Thank Chinese Community for your generous donations. These gifts will help the hospitals to ensure they have the most technologically-advanced equipment , as well as maintain and redevelop facilities, being able to provide the very best healthcare to public.

04.01.2022 Now in Melbourne we have stricter lockdown-stage 4 and curfew. In response to the coronavirus, people in lockdown at home are being brought food and supplies to help them get through quarantine. Not only the Asian Australian Volunteers, but also other community groups are helping out since February 2020. As part of the well-meaning groups on social media platforms like WeChat and MS Teams, AAV helped the community especially the vulnerable people in the way where verified me...mbers can post what supplies they need, then connect with neighbors or volunteers who can visit shops and make deliveries to their doors at no cost. One of the volunteers traveled 50 kilometres (one way) to drop off multiple shopping bags of food for a young Melbourne family who had recently returned from overseas. It’s touched my heart that the community, especially the Chinese community, has united to help those they don’t know get through this difficult period, one volunteer Tina said through a translator.

03.01.2022 Volunteers visited a senior couple with disability today, in south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, helped with mowing and garden maintainance.
