22.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who have used the DAYDATE platform to sponsor a day in the Hope Centre for us this year. We really appreciate your support. What do we do at ...the Hope Centre? We have a team of peer supporters who can listen to you and keep you supported until you can connect with other services. You may ask why don't people just connect with other services such as counselling or other mental health services. It is because of long waiting lists and because sometimes people are discharged from mental health services with no other support. Other interventions may also only offer a few restricted sessions. Why be alone if you can get support from a friendly peer supporter. What is a peer supporter? We are people with lived experience of mental health or a genuine desire to help others in this area who may struggle to find other support in the community. For more information on this check this link https://www.lifemattersdaydate.co.nz/ Thanks to AskRIGHT for creating this platform for us. Peer support services are free to our beautiful community.

21.01.2022 Facing the prospect of a deep economic recession due to COVID-19, the charitable sectors in both New Zealand and Australia are revising their plans and strategies to meet the new demands and unique challenges brought on by the pandemic. Uncertainty and difficult decisions loom for charities on both sides of the Tasman, so it is understandable for fundraisers to question what the best direction is over the next 6-12 months. Whatever the direction you decide to take, make sure you continue to do one thing: keep on fundraising! 19.01.2022 What information do you need to consider before approaching a PAF? One of the major frustrations for non-profit organisations looking to engage with PAFs is taking that first step to identify a prospective PAF and then finding out about the individuals who make decisions about how and to whom funds from the PAF are transferred. We suggest a simple framework to kick the process off after identifying a handful of PAFs. This involves looking at Interest, Linkage, and Ability o...f the PAF and ranking them on a 5-point scale. https://www.askright.com/simple-steps-to-achieving-success/ #ancillaryfunds #PAFS #privatefund #interest #linkage #ability #nonprofit #Fundraising

17.01.2022 The Australian Government/Australian Taxation Office has created an incentive to encourage ancillary funds to distribute even more to support organisations in need at this time. Private Ancillary Funds (PAFs) or Public Ancillary Funds (PuAFs) that increase their minimum required distribution by at least 4% in 2019-20 and 2020-21 combined will be entitled to credits (equal to half the percentage above the minimum) to reduce their minimum required distribution by up to 1% each year until the credits are exhausted. Nonprofit organisations that are eligible to receive funds from PAFs or PuAFs (i.e. organisations that have DGR status) subscribe to The PAF Guide, which is the only online database of every ancillary fund in Australia.
