Presented by Peter Routley AM, the awards recognise young people who actively engage with and contribute to their school and local communities. Sam is an agent for positive change in policy and practice, technological innovation and inclusion, and is a leader in co-design of the school curriculum. She demonstrates high levels of hon...esty, kindness and integrity to peers and staff, offering practical help to students with maths concepts, while engaging in extended mathematics learning herself. Sam is a respected school leader, and also competes as an elite gymnast. Through her extensive involvement in working towards becoming a Queen’s Scout, Alice has contributed significantly to the school community, especially through her organisation and leadership in a full day hike for the students. Her volunteering and environmental activities with the school have been greatly appreciated.

14.01.2022 Today is R U OK Day and while it’s important to ask that question, it's also important to know that there’s more to say after R U OK? Here are some examples of ...what you can say to someone if the answer is "no, I'm not." What you’re going through isn’t easy. It’s good we can talk about it. Have you been feeling this way for a while? That’s tough. Keep talking, I’m listening. Learn more here: www.ruok.org.au #TheresMoreToSay #RUOKDay

12.01.2022 Students fly high at ASMS! Recently, our Aviation students experienced flight training firsthand, under the supervision of the Murray Bridge Flying School. Students enjoyed the opportunity to practice basic flight skills using a Cessna 172 airplane around the Mannum area.... When licensed, they are able to fly around the Murray Bridge area with up to three passengers.

07.01.2022 Don’t be surprised if you hear an ASMS student say, that’s not a valid statement, the evidence is too weak try giving me a more logical and sound series of premises before you make such conclusions! In our Truth & Perception course, Year 10/11 students are busy learning about geometric theorems in their Proofs and Conjectures Unit: Is it True? 03.01.2022 The Premier today announced that schools and preschools will reopen to all students on Monday 23 November. As a result ASMS will be open and operating as normal. We will not be offering an alternative home-based learning program. As per our end of year program ASMS students who are aged 17 or over or who have returned an Application for Exemption from School form are not required to attend school from Wednesday 25th Nov. We emailed the Application for Exemption from School ...form earlier this term and have attached to this post for your use if required. See the notice on the portal for more information. As the Chief Public Health Officer said, just because the hard lockdown is being lifted does not mean that the risks associated with COVID-19 have passed. As a result we will minimise the number of people coming and going from our school. Thank you for your messages of support, they have meant a lot to our staff during these challenging times. Take very good care of yourself and others and stay safe, Warm regards Jayne Heath

01.01.2022 Congratulations Nikki Asikas (BArtsSc ’19 & Master of Teaching student) who has won the Outstanding Graduate award at the annual Teachers Day Awards this year Nikki, a Flinders University student, has joined us this year as a pre-service teacher, and has made many valuable contributions to our school. Her work in our Adventure Space program and her curriculum development and teaching in the stage 2 Biology and Psychology classes have been outstanding. Nikki says For me, the most rewarding part about teaching is the adrenaline that occurs when I see my students experience a light bulb moment. In that moment, I know that the tools I have been able to provide them with will help them shape their learning experience."

01.01.2022 ASMS parents, we want your honest feedback! To help us give your child the very best education, we’re asking our parents and guardians to complete a survey on a few key topics. Your feedback will help us understand the things we’re doing well, where we can improve, and what’s really important to you as a parent. ... The survey closes Friday 25 September and will take no more than 10 minutes. It’s confidential and you can complete it here: https://educationsa.syd1.qualtrics.com//SV_eJ3AXNw9lsJQcdL
