18.01.2022 Hi everyone, I hope you are staying safe and well. With so many people working from home at the moment, please take some time to check how you are sitting at your desk, or maybe dining room table or lap! Try to maintain as good a posture as you can. If you need, you could improvise a footstool with a box or large books (the old telephone books were good for this).... Remember to also take regular breaks to move around and give your body a rest. Take care

16.01.2022 Hi everyone, I've been doing some training and research on the safety of continuing to provide massage services in the current climate. It is a daily and sometimes hourly moving feast! COVID-19 is transmitted by droplets emitted by an affected person. These can be transmitted by standing close to an affected person when they sneeze or cough or touching a surface that an affected person has left on a surface (like a door knob). If you then touch your mouth, nose or eyes after ...touching this surface you are at risk of contracting COVID-19. It cannot be transmitted via skin contact. The best line of defence is to cover coughs and sneezes and wash your hands regularly. The third strategy is social distancing which is remaining 1.5m away from other people. This causes a dilemma for hands on health care practitioners when treating people. In the government announcement yesterday, it listed health care settings as an essential activity location and so not included specifically in the closure of services. Link to this is below. https://www.health.gov.au//coronavirus-covid-19-what-you-n In light of this current information I am happy to continue treating clients if you wish to be treated. I do ask the following: * if you have any cold symptoms and/or come in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 patient and/or travelled that you do not come for a massage until 14 days past this contact or travel and all symptoms have resolved. * when you arrive please do not touch the door handles. I will open and close doors for you. You can knock on the window next to the door and I will also be looking out for you. * bring a water bottle as I will not provide glasses of water. What am I doing to help protect you and me? * I am ensuring there are 15 minute breaks between clients to ensure there is no overlap of clients * New towels are provided to each client * The headrest, door knobs, pen and desk surfaces are cleaned before and after each client. Similarly, the bathroom is wiped down before and after clients. I know this is a challenging time but am confident we will all get through this well and healthy.

08.01.2022 Hi Everyone, in light of current circumstances I thought I would let you know what my cleaning procedures are. Below are what I do and have been following for all my clients. Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions of things I may not have thought about. I hope everyone remains safe and well. If you need any help along the way please give me a call and I'll see what I can do to help

08.01.2022 Hi Everyone, In light of the prime minister's announcement last night it is with sadness that I will be suspending my practice from this evening until advice changes. While I align myself more with allied health practitioners the wider community sees what I do as a luxury rather than therapeutic. I am waiting on advice from my professional association to get further clarity on this. If their advice is that I can remain open, I will do so as I know the majority of my client...s come for essential therapeutic treatment. My priority is the health and safety of my clients, family and the wider community and I need to play my part in this. I will contact all clients who have appointments booked in after today to cancel their appointments. I do have some appointments available today if you want to get in for a last minute massage. Please contact me to book in if you want an appointment or go online to book. As a sole trader there is limited support for me from the government assistance packages. So if you are wanting to support a small business you can buy a gift voucher for a massage that you can use for future visits or to give as gifts. Please contact me on 0431 501 210 or email [email protected] if you wish to purchase one. I wish you all good health and well being during this time. Please be kind and look after each other and reach out for help if you need it.
