04.01.2022 ASO | There is No Dental Civil War Dear ASO Member, Some members may have received an email from an organisation promoting their short courses on orthodontic treatment.... To catch your attention the email subject heading was: Dental Civil War is Coming - Can QST Help? It then referred to a purported civil war being between Orthodontists and general dentists. The ASO has been talking with the ADA about this advertising. Clearly the ADA and the ASO are not at war nor intending to do battle. Any suggestion of war is purely advertising hype and untrue. Both the President of the ADA, Dr Rick Olive AM RFD and President of the ASO, Dr Tony Collett have jointly stated: Any suggestion of any friction between general dentists and orthodontists is unfounded and is the figment of the imagination of some advertiser/promoter seeking to promote their product. The message suggesting friction should be totally ignored.
