24.01.2022 *** Groundbreaking study shows early intervention therapy can drastically reduce #autism diagnosis in children *** For infants at risk of autism, it was found that therapy led by their parents significantly improved the child’s social development. 21.01.2022 Newsflash - extending #COVID measures Today the Minister for the #NDIS, Stuart Robert, announced an extension to temporary measures introduced to support participants and providers to control the spread of coronavirus in Australia. The NDIA has updated the NDIS Price Guide and Addendum to include the extensions to the following support measures:... - ongoing increased access to support coordination - flexible approach to low-cost assistive technology until 28 February 2021 - one-off deep cleaning for support worker related COVID-19 diagnosis until 28 February 2021 - personal protective equipment (PPE) for certain participants and providers until 31 October 2020 for NSW and 30 November 2020 for Victoria - cleaning services and additional self-isolation and COVID-19 diagnosis supports in supported independent living arrangements nationally until 28 February 2021. On 25 September 2020, the Queensland Government revised its risk categories. The temporary supports for NDIS participants and providers in restricted areas of Queensland ended on 25 September 2020. Autism Tasmania chief executive Donna Blanchard said the evidence in support of AADs was getting stronger all the time.
