25.01.2022 NIPPERS UPDATE 2020/21 SEASON Usually we would well and truly be backup and running the Development Squad nipper training and looking forward to the club open day in October and Sunday nippers starting back soon. As everyone knows we are under covid restrictions and getting the kids back down the beach for nippers is currently unknown when we will be able to do this. We can't really plan for anything at the moment but will keep you updated as information comes to hand from Life Saving Victoria on the plan to get Nippers up and running again at Aspendale this Summer. Look after yourself and Stay Safe.

25.01.2022 School Holiday Activities running out? #freeactivies #changeourgame #womeninsport #standuppaddleboards #schoolholidays Aspendale LSC is hosting a Come and Try day this Sunday, 6th Oct. We are breaking down the barriers of female participating in sport with the support of @Change Our Game, an initiative of the Victorian Government. FREE BBQ, STAND UP PADDLE BOARD LESSONS AND MORE! https://www.facebook.com/events/496021610967664/?event_time_id=496021617634330... #leadership #diversity

25.01.2022 NIPPERS STARTS TOMORROW Just a reminder to be there early if you need to collect rash vest and nippers cap. Your membership needs to be completed. Over the next 2-3 weeks age groups 8 and above will be doing their annual swim evaluation. Please make sure if kids prefer to swim with goggles on you have them for this and every other week. This year we are planning much more focus on swimming.... Being able to swim competently is an integral part of making children safe at the beach as well as allowing them to actively participate and enjoy surf life saving activities. The nippers program is not a learn to swim program. We strongly encourage you to enrol your children in learn to swim classes depending on their current ability. We do recognise that swimming in the ocean is a new experience for many children and that even competent pool swimmers can find this challenging at first. Our aim is to encourage children and to help develop their confidence and skills swimming in the ocean as well as provide surf education. Also the Age groups 12,13 and 14 are rostered on for setup tomorrow. If there are any parents from these age groups that can help setup from 10am onwards please come down and help out. See you on the beach.

After further information becomes available next week we as a club will provide further advise towards the Nippers program for the remainder of the season. Thank you kindly for your understanding.
