25.01.2022 Congratulations Deniz Aldogan, who took on the long course at Sydney Trail Series on this hot, sunny morning! The challenging 30K route twists through stunning scenery, technical climbs and some steep descents. Deniz finished in 4:07 and thoroughly enjoyed her run; appreciated astonishing views; listened to - and even danced to - her favourite Spanish music mid-run. THIS is what SUCCESS looks like - finding joy in your running and remembering that you are indeed, simply awesome! Never stop believing! @dnz_sea_el_mar #trailblazersau

18.01.2022 A cracking result for Deniz Aldogan in her 50K Ultra in The Snowy Mountains (Snowies Trail Run Festival). Deniz completed the distance in 7.5hrs and made huge progress along her UTA100-training journey in many aspects of the ultra running craft. Most importantly, Deniz had an epic time out in those mountains today - which is what it’s all about! All in a day’s work! Well done Deniz. Deniz Aldogan

12.01.2022 Huge shout-out to Dee Roe, who ran her 1st Marathon today at Busselton, WA. Dee finished in 3:31:09, taking 1st place Vet Female, 11th Female overall and won 1st Prize in ‘The Go-Getter Challenge’ - a series of 3 races (10K, 21K & 42K) in 3 months. Importantly, Dee was racing in aid of ‘The Long Run’ - a campaign to raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. This is a cause close to Dee’s heart as her Brother, Al, is currently impacted by the disease. The Charity is working towards achieving better outcomes for Australia’s Men and their Families. Fantastic achievement today Dee, on all levels. @noexcuserun @pcfa_oz

10.01.2022 "Knowledge is power!"...just knowing what determines your physical and mental limits can help you begin to over-come them! Join us next Thurs for 'An Evening of Mental Fitness' if you're looking for an EDGE in competition...and life.'

09.01.2022 I love reviewing my Athletes’ training via TrainingPeaks - checking in to see how everyone’s running is going and planning workouts for their week ahead is a great pleasure (and privilege). But before I settle down at my desk, a coffee and some Book Club homework. Why not enjoy ‘the space between’ things in your day? There are quite a few when you think about it - make something of them and the cumulative influence on your day is notable. Celebrate small things. @cafegirasoli #runcoach #trainingpeaks #allambieheights #runstrength

08.01.2022 A successful ‘Evening of Mental Fitness’ in The Garage. Thanks to all who participated and shared their own training/racing- and life - experiences. We all learnt something new to take forward. Effort we make now to reinforce our psychological tool kit will serve us well in 2021 and beyond. Mental Toughness is something to Aspire2. 08.01.2022 Just a few spots left for Thursday’s 8pm Presentation...book in to hear how to hone your Sporting Endurance EDGE.

07.01.2022 13 years ago was my 1st race* - the Brentwood Half-Marathon (outside London, UK) with my husband Geoff, and two friends Katharine & Clint. Wanting ‘’to do something big for my 30th birthday, I ‘gently persuaded’ everyone along for the ride. None of us knew anything about how to train, recover, fuel/hydrate, etc. - but we didn’t care (we simply weren’t aware there WAS anything to know) as we’d set ourself a HUGE goal and had each other to meet it with. My memories of training...: trying to keep up with Clint as we ran down a very long, grey, traffic-laden Highway in Leyton every Tues; trying to keep up with Geoff as we ran around Wanstead Flats in the rain every Sun; trying to keep up with Katharine as we ran home from work along the Thames every Thurs; and on race-morning, it was VERY cold. I still remember the immense joy & incredible sense of accomplishment that flooded my soul on crossing that 1st Finish Line. Words can’t describe that feeling you get when you set yourself a goal that’s maybe a little ‘out of reach’ - that you have to continually strive towards with no idea whether it’s even achievable for you. But when you DO get there? Well, it’s....you know! You’ve just got to experience it to understand it. I also recall I couldn’t walk properly or sit down at my desk at work for 3 weeks afterwards (this was way before standing desks became popular). But, this 1st race set off a totally awesome chain of events, that is STILL in progress. I’m still setting big goals for myself that I’m not quite sure are achievable. They’re just different goals, but still as challenging & exciting, and still providing me with drive and purpose. Thankful for having these marvellous people in my life who accidentally contributed to something so HUGE. Forever grateful. *my 1st race was technically ‘The Battersea 10K’ in central London. However, when I arrived on race-morning, I discovered the race had been cancelled at last minute...so I ran it by myself instead. Little did I know that ‘solo, virtual races’ would become ‘a thing’! Everything happens for a reason. Clint Southern-Warburton @geoff3142 @theoriginalbondikat

06.01.2022 Super-proud of my little Champion today! Our youngest Aspire2Runner, Leah, set herself a goal of training for a solo virtual 5K ‘Parkrun’, which we named The Wood 5.’ At the end June, Leah asked me to write her a training program encompassing 3-4 runs, plus 2 x strength sessions each week. Leah has been diligently sticking to her program with full autonomy-she’s learned about juggling her training with other commitments (dance, soccer, time with Friends-, Family- or for herself); how when-, and what-, you eat affects your energy, as does how you sleep; and the power of setting- and achieving goals. I asked her what her number 1 Race-Goal was before she ran today, and she said to have fun!. She nailed it, what a winner! Signed ‘A Very Proud Mum.’

05.01.2022 With many Aspire2Runners looking forward to signature events in Oct/Nov (as solo milestone runs or participating in smaller-scale races), now’s a good time to revisit training/racing nutrition. 03.01.2022 1st in Category and 4th place overall for George Morton-Ramwell at Sydney Trail Series 24K trail race. This morning’s outing was on the stunning St Ives course on another gorgeous (hot!) sunny morning. A wrong turn gave George a few bonus K’s in the legs, but once back on-course, he battled his way from 25th place to finish 4th in a cracking time of 2:15:06. Brilliant display of mental toughness to recover so well and fight hard for that come-back. Incredible effort George! @george_morton_ramwell #trailblazersaust #sydneytrailseries

Wonderful to see so many familiar faces, and plenty of Trailblazers shirts, out on the trails again - a timely reminder of why we love our races. Congratulations to Idette Warburton, Pepita Buddee and Dave Wood for their successes today. Great to bump into Rachel Wildig and her friend, Rachel (pictured here with me and Idette). 01.01.2022 Finding opportunity in adversity. This has been the theme in the Aspire2 locker room in recent months: we’ve all been directing our searchlights inwards to iden...tify our INTRINSIC motivation for training. I’m proud of the new ‘Why’s everyone has identified and have nothing short of admiration for those who are continuing to work towards their goals (to be executed via their own version of their races instead). Leading the way today are two super-strong women, Idette Warburton and Caroline Wilson. In solidarity, they bashed out their 40K run together despite yesterday’s news that their target race (Ultra-Trail Australia 100K) won’t be going ahead this Oct after all. Like Idette and Caroline, we’ll push on and look forward to seeing what we can learn about ourselves - running is an exceptional vehicle to this end - we’re so lucky to have this gift. @idettew @where_is_caroline @trailblazersaust #runstrength #ultratrailaustralia2020 #trailblazersaust #trailgaiters #lornajaneambassador See more
