24.01.2022 Looking for mental health training. Get a team together or just you. We all need this right now.

24.01.2022 Are you a leader or a manager/boss or both? I had a conversation with someone recently. One of the biggest challenges is when those in leadership/management roles do not know how to lead as opposed to managing in a controlling or restrictive way. How do we learn new strategies in order to respectfully lead and create a vision where others will follow? ... Leadership can be learnt when you are open to learning, to truelly critically reflect on your own practice, accessing professional development where appropriate and gaining the support from another leader. Professional Supervision is a way you can be supported in this area. It's a safe space to share, unpack the day to day challenges you face daily. Wondering how you can be supported? Professional Supervision with Michelle is available online at a time convenient for you. Contact us for more information.

20.01.2022 Hello. How are you all travelling? I have some exciting news to share. I'm stepping away from my part time preschool teaching role and taking on a contract role for a while supporting educators who were impacted during the 2019/2020 bushfires. I'll still be doing some online support with Aspire in the interim. If you want to know more about the Bushfire Recovery Program see the following: https://beyou.edu.au/bushfire-response-program

16.01.2022 It’s time to create spaces & systems that support intergenerational healing. The Healing Foundation & Emerging Minds have developed a series of NEW resources to... improve social and emotional wellbeing outcomes for First Nations children. These resources give service providers and parents tools to understand the impacts of intergenerational trauma and reframe the narrative towards intergenerational healing for children at all stages of their development. An e-learning module, factsheets, and an animation are part the new package released today. More info: https://healingfoundation.org.au/intergenerational-trauma//

16.01.2022 Let's all work together to help change the language of Early Childhood Education and Care.

15.01.2022 What is the value of having an Acknowledgement of Country in your service? Many will see the value whilst some may not understand the value. Is it because they 'don't know what they don't know.' OR Is it because they 'don't see it as necessary?'... If people don't know how can they deep dive into the WHY? If it's not considered necessary then WHERE does that understanding come from? These are questions to ponder and reflect on. I'd love to hear your views. Bye for Now Michelle :)

13.01.2022 #reconciliationweek2021 #earlyliteracy #earlychildhood #culturalawareness #culturaljourney #aboriginalart #Aborignalsonglines Storytime with some children at a preschool where the educators have a huge focus and passion around nature. They are starting their reconciliation journey and want to authentically make a difference by understanding our culture and teaching the next generation the truth. Starting with the story 'My Country' we explored aspects of art to tell story, o...ur songlines, discussed country in the context of our local environment and animals and so much more. I then shared my story about the country I live on through art. Children also created pieces of their concept of country using shapes, lines, colour accompanied with their story, as well as, contributing to mine 'the river is splashing into the trees'. What a special experience. See more

07.01.2022 What are you doing over Reconciliation week? This is a time to consider what reconciliation means and how it plays out in your service. Starting with our own understanding of the word generally is a good starting point. Then working towards a shared understanding in your team before even tackling this with children is important. Check out the great resources and ideas to help you grow. https://www.reconciliation.org.au/national-reconciliation-/
