23.01.2022 The Importance of Keeping Kids Active... Physical (body) and cognitive (brain) development go hand-in-hand. While this continues for life, this relationship is ...most critical at a young age. When kids are active, their brain develops, allowing for new types of activity. Play-based activity that requires a high degree of sensory input (sight, sound, touch, etc.) helps develop a broad array of skills that make physical activity more enjoyable later in life. See more

19.01.2022 From January 2021, the national high performance programs for Boxing, Judo and Taekwondo will be delivered by a newly established, sport owned, aggregated high ...performance entity called the Combat Institute of Australia (CIA). This innovative and collaborative new approach will deliver enhanced high performance outcomes for all three sports by ensuring a dedicated high performance focus, increased and more secure funding and access to a greater range of performance support services for categorised athletes. JA will continue to carry out all its existing roles and responsibilities to develop, grow and enhance the sport of Judo in Australia, with the benefit of our high performance programs now being given dedicated and better resourced focus under this new model. For this new model to work it is essential that there is an adequate pathway for young athletes who are working towards international representation. To view this new pathway model, head to our website http://ow.ly/HsbQ50CyOji

11.01.2022 We have been in discussions with the team at BRAWL regarding potentially opening up again from the 4.10.2021. The catch is we are restricted to only 10 persons in the GYM. This includes coaching staff. This would mean that we wouldn’t be able to have everyone on the mat and there would be no spectators allowed. At this stage I‘m looking to see who would be returning to training given these conditions and if you are did, if you prefer Tuesday or Thursday night training so we can work out a schedule till restriction numbers increase. Please use messenger to respond.

11.01.2022 Please let us know which juniors will be attending and preference of Tuesday or Thursday. Keep in mind that there is no spectators. Hopefully restrictions ease soon so we can all train together soon. We will confirm training by Sunday.

02.01.2022 Today is R U OK? Day. Asking the question just not today but any day, ‘R U OK?’ could be the start of a conversation that could change someone’s life. Many of you or your family members may experience anxiety, worry or stress associated with the current pandemic as we are dealing with the unknown, and with implications that are out of our control.... However, it’s important to remember that these feelings can be managed and that paying attention to your mental health will not only help you to cope during the difficult times, but also to build a strong foundation for the future.

01.01.2022 Last U10 class for 2020.
