15.01.2022 I have some very exciting news, we have a new website up and running! Please check it out at: aspirerehab.com.au Thanks to the guys at WLM creative for the great work and putting up with me!

15.01.2022 I know its been quite a while since we last updated this page but with good reason... we have been inundated with referrals which has been great for a few different reasons. It has allowed our team of OT's to grow and help us to diversify the services we provide, meaning that we are able to provide a more timely and comprehensive service... and it has allowed us to achieve some goals that have been important for us to work towards for a while. Whilst NDIS has been a good t...hing (and not so good thing) for many in the community we understand that there is still a lot of unmet need, especially for those who may not have access to funded services or supports. Barriers to funding for equipment and assessment still exist especially in the domain of wheelchairs, posture management and seating. Access to specialised equipment and services in this area are especially difficult to find in aged care and residential facilities. As a provider we like to think that we are a little different, and because we have grown enough to allow us to explore this we would like to offer our clinical skills to those who; funding for assessment is a barrier or to clinicians who may require support around complex seating needs and who may not have the support in place. Our hope is that by removing some of the barriers we can help people get one step closer to the right equipment, have their posture well managed and allow them to achieve their mobility and functional goals. Each referral is assessed on a case by case basis and prioritised by clinical need. We are pleased to report that we saw our first two non-fee paying clients last month! Feel free to spread the word if you have people that would benefit.

13.01.2022 Well this new year has certainly been a busy one. For those who do not know, after a few years of sub contracting for other companies I have decided to take the plunge and start my own company ASPIRE REHAB providing Occupational Therapy services to clients living in Sydney. I invite you to come join us on this exciting journey! Come visit our Facebook page ASPIRE REHAB AU to see our inaugural post where you can find out about the interesting and manic start to the year.

12.01.2022 Well this is all a bit exciting, the inaugural post to what hopefully will become a regular feature. It certainly has been a busy start to the year! I am preparing to deliver a two day training course in February to OT's in Canberra about wheelchair prescription and seating. I am really looking forward to it and am pretty nervous, but in an excited way! With the roll out of NDIS I have had a influx of really interesting referrals that really reflect the client centred nature ...of the NDIS and that happen to fit really neatly into our core values at Aspire Rehab. I have had requests for modified gun mountings for wheelchairs, power assist wheelchairs and environmental control options that incorporate more mainstream technology and which has allowed my inner nerd to escape! I've also had the opportunity to work with the wonderful volunteers at TAD to explore options with an expectant mother and powered wheelchair user work out how to facilitate her to take her child to the park in a stroller. It has certainly been one of the most interesting and challenging appointments I've had! I am really excited by the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead in 2017! Hopefully you can come with us on our journey! We have a new website on the way soon, but if you have any questions in the meantime please contact me so that we can help you with your queries.

07.01.2022 I am super excited for my road trip to Canberra where I'll be presenting a two day course in wheelchair prescription and posture management! Looking forward to meeting like minded OT's who are as passionate about seating as I am and helping them to make good clinical decisions about seating and wheelchair prescription. #Playlistandsnackssorted
