15.01.2022 Today is the first day of Planet Ark’s National Recycling Week (Monday 9 to Sunday 15 November 2020). National Recycling Week provides an important opportunity for councils, workplaces, schools and individuals to improve their recycling knowledge, build better recycling habits and build trust in recycling. The theme this year is ‘Recovery - A future beyond the bin’. AESS are two weeks in with the implementation of our whole school waste and recycling management. We have been collecting data and each day we are diverting soft plastic, food scraps, bread scraps and containers from going to landfill. Well Done Aspley East!

05.01.2022 Opening Outdoor Learnscape and Yarning Circle Today at Aspley East we were excited to officially open our beautiful new outdoor area. Uncle Joe Kirk, was our special guest and he welcomed us all to country and did a smoking ceremony to cleanse the new area. For the staff and students in attendance, this was a real privilege. We were thrilled that we could hold this special occasion on Outdoor Learning Day and at the start of our school’s NAICOC week activities. We would li...ke to thank every person who has helped in making the area what it is from Mrs Kerr Hislop, who has driven the project from start to finish, through to all the volunteers who came to working bees, the gardeners, the people who have donated materials, the Early Act Club who wrote the information for our signage about native bees and the list goes on. We appreciate every one of you thank you. See more
02.01.2022 Dear Parents/Caregivers, Please check your child/ren’s bags today for important information coming home regarding the 2021 Student Resource Scheme (our alternative to book lists). Forms are to be returned to the school by Friday 27th November 2020 and payment is due by Friday 29th January 2021. All information will also be up on our website by the end of this week. Prep parents for 2021 if you’ve already paid your 2021 fee when you had your interview, this has been sitting as a credit on your account and will now be matched with the invoice you received last night. Unfortunately, when our system generates invoices, they are sent out to our families before they are matched with account credits. Apologies for any confusion caused.
