24.01.2022 Happy New Year’s Eve! While fireworks are exciting for humans, they are terrifying for animals, so it’s important to consider our furry friends tonight. Protect your pets from the loud noises by keeping them inside in a safe place, keeping them calm and making sure they have access to lots of water. A game or two to distract them will help too.... A reminder, we are closed New Years Day. Asquith Vet will return to normal hours from Saturday 2nd and Berowra will return to normal from Monday 4th. Another reminder that the emergency hospital, NEVS, is considered to be in the Northern Beaches so for emergencies head to SASH at North Ryde. #asquithvet #berowravet #newsyearseve #animalhealth #pethealth #dogs #cats

Here are three recommendations to help reduce your pets’ risk of suffering from tick paralysis: 1. Preventative treatment Tick paralysis can be prevented with long-lasting treatments available to protect your pet. 2. Daily inspections use your finger tips to feel your pet’s coat from head to foot every day 3. Watch from symptoms Be vigilant and keep an eye out for weakness, paralysis, agitation and unusual breathing patterns Bravecto & Revolution for cats if an effective product that kills paralysis ticks and fleas. 09.01.2022 Meet Atlas the Finnish Lapphund Puppy Atlas came in for his puppy vaccinations and check with Dr Jison! The Finnish Lapphund is an Arctic herding spitz breed of dog from the Lapland regions of Finland, bred as a companion and to herd reindeer. Finnish Lapphunds are a medium sized compact breed with a thick harsh double coat. They come in a range of different coat colours and markings - black or brown (with or without tan markings), cream, sable, wolf sable and domino pattern. They are an energetic and friendly breed - but keep in mind they are a working breed and thrive on being part of the family.
