For RTOs with the new Infection control Skill Sets on scope of registration, there's still the matter of contextualised assessment against the unit of competency. Training Tools have released assessment tools to suit retail and food handling target groups with benchmarks and contextualisations fitting typical retail and food handling workplace situations and duties. These products for nationally accredited training outcomes are a dual tool; perfect for use with students who are trying to [re]enter the workplace, as well as for those already working. Workplace policy/procedure documents for 'Smart Buy Retail' for the Retail Skill Set, and for 'Quick Eats' for the Food Handling Skill Set are included to further support students who may not be in workplace employment, and/or who may not have access to workplace documentation required for assessment tasks. 05.01.2022 Even though the addition to scope in most cases was automatic, how many RTOs are on top of their compliance obligations to have all of the materials for everyth...ing on their scope? I spoke to one RTO Training Manager the other day and the comment was something like "we have no intention of delivering this skill set... huh? it's on our scope?!" How many don't realise?? And therefore, don't realise they either need to get it off scope or get the resources in place Training Tools have developed independently validated assessment tools for the Retail, and the Food Handling Infection Control Skill Sets.
