25.01.2022 Another new customer last week, as our business is about keeping the workplace safe, we let our customers know if we come across any hazards in the workplace. This suspended power point is in need of some handy work from a qualified electrician.
24.01.2022 Today I came across a novel way of joining a power lead. A small junction box filled with silicon which was inside a larger junction box. I reckon it would have made using the corer a bit difficult. Obviously the corer failed and had to be repaired. Problem solved, I cut out the junction box and refitted the lead to the corer. The corer is back in service and safe to use.
24.01.2022 This is a damaged three phase switched power point that was located behind the racking in a warehouse of one of our customers. When we come across things that are unsafe in the workplace we let our customers know so they can rectify the hazard. At Asset Test and Tag we go that little bit further to assist our customers maintain a safe working environment.
22.01.2022 We discovered this pallet wrapper control box on a site shared by one of our customers and the landlord. As our customer uses the pallet wrapper we obviously defected the machine. The landlord thought by wrapping plastic around the controller was safe enough. Just an accident waiting to happen
15.01.2022 Yesterday while servicing a client we came across the most dangerous appliance to date. Brenton was testing an extension lead which was under an electric reclining chair. The lead was cut through to bare wires not once but three times. One of the cuts exposed the active wire, the customer was extremely lucky that the metal frame of the chair was not livened up to 240 volts. Needless to say the lead was made safe by cutting off the plug and socket before the faulty lead was disposed of.
11.01.2022 Today while doing a job at one of our customers, we can across an innovative way to keep all their battery charging organised in one place. Thought this was worth sharing as it's a great way to minimise damaging the charger leads.

09.01.2022 Around 95% of all our failures are identified by inspecting the appliance, this power supply case was broken and held together by tape. Even though our customer is doing the right thing getting their appliances tested and tagged, the staff think nothing of tapping something up to attempt make it safe. Regular testing and tagging identifies and removes these dangerous items from the workplace .

03.01.2022 Examples of some of the defective items we find in use in the workplace - these are accidents just waiting to happen.
02.01.2022 We can across a defective lead under a desk in an office this week where the previous Testing and Tagging technician set the retest period at 5 years, which you can see by the tag is still another 2 years off. The AUS/NZ standard for Testing and Tagging list retest periods based on the potential damage that could be caused. In this case we would have had a 1 year retest cycle. ... In another 2 years who knows what state this damaged lead would maybe in?
