22.01.2022 At AG, we love it when our customers are good enough to really test out our products. Lets face it, no ones buying a gasket to look good so we need to know they work. Today, we got the results back from one recent test up in Central Queensland where a metal part was left out in the elements. The difference; the parts inner bore was sprayed with our Weicon Corro Protection Spray while the other outside of the component was not. The picture below shows what happened. 21.01.2022 Ever struggled to find the exact O Ring you need? In this instructional video, we show you how to measure and cut custom size o-rings from readily available cords. For this example we have used nitrile o-ring cord bonded with Weicon VA 8406 Contact Cyanoacrylate adhesive which is good for use on almost all rubbers (except silicone). Made from MS Polymers, it is completely free of silicone and works well on most materials including metal, ceramics, wood, glass, stone and many types of plastic. It's perfect for all kinds of DIY work as well as heavy, industrial applications. Its real claim to fame though is its very high initial bond strength. Super-Tack has a skin-over time of just 10 minutes but its adhesive effect is almost instant. 08.01.2022 When we heard that it was possible to use every day Weicon Contact Adhesives to glue a range of notoriously difficult low surface energy plastics such as Polyethylene, Polypropylene and other modern thermoplastic elastomers (TPE's), we just had to see it for ourselves. Applying a few brush strokes of Weicon Contact Primer prior to using VA 8406 super glue effectively changes the surface structure of the plastic, allowing it to be bonded more effectively. So we thought we would test these claims with one of the hardest known materials to bond; polytetrafluoroethylene, otherwise known as PTFE or Teflon (the same material used to coat non-stick frying pans). 08.01.2022 Until now it has been almost impossible to bond PTFE (Teflon) to steel without using expensive and time consuming pre-treatments like chemical etching. But when we had to do it, we decided to give Weicon Contact Primer for Polyolefins a test and were amazed by what this invisible, brush-on coating can do. It alters the surface structure of materials such as PTFE, enabling them to bond with other materials using more readily available glues such as Weicon Contact VA 1401. We used it on both mild steel and stainless steel and were so impressed with the test results (and the money we will now save!) that we made this video so that you can see them too!
