25.01.2022 When you been around as long as us, you get an affinity with certain races. Milan San Remo, the longest of the classics and the first of the monuments, is one of those. From our early days in the late 1970s when unofficially most of the peloton swapped wool short for Lycra ones, through to supporting some of the most iconic riders in the sport in the 1980s, up to the present: like the race, you need to be in it for the long haul to make a difference. Our friends ov...er at @nttprocycling also have a history entwined with this race; it was their win here in 2013 that shot them into the big leagues. Good luck to the riders in blue today, we'll be screaming hard in support as you tackle the iconic slopes of the Poggio. #realhistorynothype #MSR #MilanSanRemo #assos #assosofswitzerland #equipmentnotclothing #sponsoryourself #nttprocycling #worldtour #bicycleschangelives See more

23.01.2022 Test, create, perform The approach at the centre of product R&D at ASSOS that sees us breaking convention and setting the benchmark. Recently we heightened the intensity of our indoor training project, with the need to create a jersey for our friends at @nttprocycling for their lockdown-induced e-racing campaign. We set out with the aim to create and refine a jersey that shares the DNA of a hyperlight baselayer, keeping riders cool and dry during full-gas efforts whi...le still enabling us to meet the team's sponsor obligations. The result: a virtual Tour de France winning success, not just from an aesthetic standpoint, but from a performance one too. Stripped back, super breathable and featherweight, this eRace RS Jersey has already proven its concept. Stay tuned for the launch date. #assos #assosofswitzerland #equipmentnotclothing #sponsoryourself #nttprocycling #worldtour #bicycleschangelives See more

22.01.2022 @tammcbikes - The new ASSOS Women’s Dyora Aero kit. It is noticeably different. The bib shorts are ridiculously light with minimal seams, wide straps and a comfortable compression fit. The padding feels very slight but as ever with ASSOS shorts, I am completely confident to wear these for any length of ride.... The jersey is so soft, lightweight and a great fit. I opted for black. Yeah, it’s summer but like Wednesday Addams I’ll stop wearing black when they make a darker colour. #assosofswitzerland #womenscycling #freshkit #equipmentnotclothing

17.01.2022 @rocketrawrrs - Performance equipment that fits like a second skin. Shorts that stay put. Padding that actually fits in the right places. A jersey that forms to your shape on the bike. Breathable. Light. Fast. When I stopped racing for teams, and took a step back, I could finally choose what I wanted to wear on the bike. I didn’t think my requirements were that difficult to find, but it’s taken me a few tries to find what I was looking for. Shorts that actually support...ed your muscles, with padding in the right locations. I lean low when in the saddle, and I’ve found a lot of shorts I wore didn’t have padding that went the full distance. I wanted shorts that came up high enough on my waist for my jersey, which I also would wear on my waist. A jersey that had no collar and sleeves that didn’t come down to my elbows. A jersey that was short and would sit on my waist, not my hips. Something light weight, breathable, and fast. Just because I wasn’t racing, it didn’t mean I wasn’t still out training. @assosofswitzerland Dyora RS was worth the wait. I look forward to see what more female specific performance wear comes next For transparency - I buy my own Assos kit, @the.big.chainring tempted me into it after seeing the quality first hand with @nttprocycling . Having discussed the female range and it’s future with members of the @assos_ldn team, as well as company transparency, I was happy to proceed in buying the best on-bike equipment. Buy less, buy better, and look after the clothing you own. I rotate only a few items of Assos clothing (there are two Assos wearing cyclists in this house which is why my washing line looks like the inside of an Assos store), and only buy more when an item needs replacing. #assosofswitzerland #assoswomen #womenscycling #equipmentnotclothing

14.01.2022 ‘I always said that you were the unluckiest rider in the Tour de France peloton. First you had Eddy, then you had me. Seven times second, was it? But at least you won it once.’ Direct words as ever from five-times winner of the Tour de France Bernard Hinault to Joop Zoetemelk, spoken three decades later as amicable friends at an ASSOS event. Zoetemelk was introduced to us in the early days when problems with his crotch caused by woollen shorts led him to look for a mor...e comfortable solution, which came in the form of an ASSOS chronosuit, first used during the GP Lugano in ‘78. It was a moment that demonstrated the performance power of apparel as the Dutch climber beat the time trial specialist Francesco Moser. From then on, Zoetemelk rode in nothing but ASSOS shortsbranded or otherwise. Around the same period Hinault was also introduced to ASSOS, during one of cycling’s most revolutionary periods in terms of technological advances. Renault - Elf, his team at the time, requested time trial skin suits, and in Hinault’s words: ‘It was transformational. What we’d worn before was really bad half-woollen-acrylic kit that was either very long, or very short.’ And Hinault’s advice for the GC contenders in the remaining days: ‘You can't slack off; you know all too well that your rivals are there and they’re not going to let you off the hook.’ 2 more days to Paris. #TDF2020 Credit: Cor Vos See more

13.01.2022 The Trail Cargo Shorts take the concept of adaptable, all-mountain shorts to a new realm, made possible by streamlined tailoring and progressive materials. They’ve been developed with a waistband that smoothly holds the shorts in place, a cut that’s trim around the crotch to avoid saddle snag, a length that’s ideal with or without pads, and a versatile new fabric that flexes with each pedal stroke. 12.01.2022 Tour de France, 1986. Systéme-U in the stage two Team Time Trial, a day for certain teams to display their prowess while others show weaknesses. When Renault ended its long sponsorship with Cyrille Guimard’s iconic team, it was the Systéme U supermarket group that stepped in as title sponsor for the 1986 season. Guimard was keen to advance the technological boundaries of the sport and ASSOS became the clothing supplier. On that hot day in July, racing over the 56 km co...urse, the teamcomprising of some of the most iconic riders in the sport, including leader Laurent Fignon, French Champion Yvon Madiot and Prologue winner Thierry Marie, along with 7 other teammatesrode like clockwork. Guimard kept his riders at the cutting-edge of technology. Aero helmets, bars, wheels and clothing gave them an edge that was unmatched by any team over the 1:10:27 that it took this squad to cover the stage’s distance. The 7-Eleven squad fell by the wayside, with race leader Alex Stieda, who paid for his lone breakaway the day before, finishing 49 seconds within the cut-off time to just stay in the race. The La Vie Claire team with both Bernard Hinault and Greg Le Mond also lacked the power to stop the Systéme-U train, losing over two minutes in the 57kmsomething that, for many, gave hope that Fignon could go on to take his 3rd Tour de France title. Maire took the jersey that day thanks to his team’s efforts, and the 38-second advantage allowed him to hold on to the jersey for another 7 days. Madiot ended up as the team’s best-placed rider on GC, taking 10th in 1986, whilst the overall honours went to the young American Greg Le Mond, beating his teammate Hinault and causing some friction within the team. It’s no secret that aerodynamics go beyond your helmet and your bike choice, so we’re proud to have been a key part of this iconic moment within our sport. #realhistorynotmarketinghype #assosofswitzerland #assosaustralia See more

02.01.2022 The jacket is crafted with the latest development from the ASSOS Textile Laboratory, our Schloss Tex, which is lightweight, flexible, and waterproof.
