18.01.2022 The weather is warming and we have our first Public Viewing Night of the Season coming up in October, on the 4th, 5th & 6th (middle weekend of the school holidays). Usually we choose a weekend when the Moon is not up as its easier to see other objects, but this time its all about The Moon. This year was the 50th Anniversary of the Moon landings, so come along and have a close look at our nearest neighbour. We will of course also be looking at other objects, such as Jupiter... and Saturn are both well placed and look spectacular. Check out the event page for more info https://www.facebook.com/events/2476102382483515/ If you have ever considered joining the Society, perhaps this year is the time to do it (no telescope necessary!). For more info, contact us at [email protected]

16.01.2022 Do you own a Telescope? Thinking about buying one? Our final BYO Telescope and New Members night is coming up this Friday. 14.01.2022 Terrific night at the Observatory tonight, clear skies and a small but enthusiastic crowd. After a cloudy week we had clear skies and cool temperatures, perfect for some star gazing. Tonight, tomorrow and Monday should all be clear and just a little warmer than tonight. The Observatory opens at 8pm each night this weekend if youd like to check out the night skies.

13.01.2022 Visit the Bunbury Observatory next weekend

11.01.2022 Our first Public Open Night of the new season has been scheduled for the last weekend of the school holidays, Friday Oct 9th, Saturday Oct 10th and Sunday Oct 11th. This time we have Jupiter and Saturn almost directly overhead, ideally placed for our telescopes. If you have been to our previous events you will notice a few changes this year, including the need to book online. We're also limited the number of attendees, which means more time for everyone to see through the te...lescopes, and more objects to look at. Tickets are limited, click the event below to make a booking.

11.01.2022 Final BYO Telescope night for the year is tonight. www.facebook.com/events/1245299055626978/

11.01.2022 We had a great night on Friday, a very friendly group and we saw Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, Tuc 47, M22, M4, Alpha Crux, the Jewel Box, and a bunch of other objects. The clouds looked ominous early in the evening, but they mostly cleared by 8pm. Looking forward to Saturday and Sunday, weather is looking good for both nights. Just two tickets left for Saturday, but a few more are available for Sunday.

10.01.2022 Its a beautiful night in Bunbury, hopefully the clouds stay away and we should have great views The Moon, Jupiter and Saturn. Were open until 9:30 tonight.

09.01.2022 We have had a great response to our New Members and BYO Telescope night and were almost fully booked. If youd like to come along check the event listing and contact the club on [email protected] https://www.facebook.com/events/529537507772998/

09.01.2022 Here's something to do on the weekend Friday night is sold out, but there are still tickets available for Saturday & Sunday.

06.01.2022 Unfortunately, the weather has not been kind and its unlikely tonights event will go ahead, unless it miraculously clears by 7pm, which is unlikely. Our next Public Open Nights are in October, on the middle weekend of the school holidays. Hopefully mother nature will be more cooperative then.

06.01.2022 Another great night at the Observatory last night, great crowd that saw some terrific views of Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, Tuc 47, Butteryfly Cluster, Jewel Box, Alpha Cent and others. The weather cooperated and we had clear skies all night. Tonight is our last Public Event for 2020 and we're expecting clear skies. Some tickets are still available at https://www.trybooking.com/book/event?embed&eid=662816
