15.01.2022 Assyrian Democratic Movement, Sydney Chapter, together with Assyrian Aid Society Australia and Assyrian Women’s Organisation of Australia, commemorated Martyrs ...Day for the Assyrian Chaldean Syriac community, today August 7, at the ADM office in Sydney. A poignant tribute was held in honour of our brave martyrs whom sacrificed their life for the Assyrian name and cause. The blood of the martyrs did not spill in vain for we will continue the legacy of our courageous heroes and continue the fight to preserve our language, our faith and our heritage. We must instil this passion in our children and their children so that the legacy may live on and the hope and light of our Assyrian nation is not extinguished. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten because ‘the people who have really made history are our Martyrs’- Aliester Crowley. We apologise to all members of the community who are usually present during this significant event however, due to Covid restrictions a large gathering was not permitted. May our glorious Martyrs rest in eternal peace. .
