17.01.2022 The AST Remembrance Memorial is dedicated to the memory of CPL Ben Johns and SGT Anthony Brook. Both were serving members of AST who tragically passed away in Dec 18 and Jan 19 respectively. We were honoured to have Mrs Johns, Ben’s mother, with us for this special day. The memorial was unveiled by Mrs Johns and CO AST during a short service on Saturday. We will remember them. Lest we forget.

14.01.2022 AST held the final Innovation Competition for 2019 last week. While fewer submissions in this last round they were all still exceptionally credible and will be taken forward for further development. The winner was CPL Andrew Nilon, RTW who proposed a sheathing device for the tie down rings on the L121 fleet. This simple idea has the potential to prevent damage to the the tie down rings and the vehicle and shield the noise when moving tactically. Second place was a replacement battery charger for the LCM8 from CPL Ben Alderson, MW and runner up was WO2 Mick Giampino, MW with his Power Dolphin Underwater Drone for a replacement to some maritime dive tasks and beach surveys. Well done to all! CPL Nilon is pictured with his prize flanked by OC CTW / OIC Modernisation MAJ Luke Baldacchino and CO AST LTCOL Sally McClellan.
