25.01.2022 Every year Campaign Brief's The Work recognises the very best advertisements and campaigns of the year across Asia, Australia and New Zealand. I am so proud that the Motor Accident Commission radio campaign 'Taken Out' i produced for KWP! It is one of only 19 radio spots recognised and the only South Australian sound facility to be named. Thank you to KWP for the opportunity to work on such great radio.

15.01.2022 So this morning i wake with a sore head and a heavy awards shelve. Last night @ the 40th AADC awards i picked up an award for Craft In Sound - Sound Design for SA Health Waiting is not an emergency tvc - Showpony, Craft In Sound - Sound Design for Motor Accident Commission Seatbelts radio - KWP! But the big one was being awarded joint Presidents Award - Watering Can with Justin Pounsett. Such an honour to be presented with this award and i am truly humbled. BUT, i ...was left speechless. And yes you all heard it last year but i have woken up kicking my self for not thanking the people who really matter, so i will now. Firstly thank you to all my clients & supporters of the 28-29 odd years i have been doing this. Without you this is not possible. I feel truly blessed to have such a great client base. Then my family. My dad Richard Astbury, its because of him i am in this industry. He was himself a heavy weight in the industry, he has worked as a Senior copywriter for many agencies, creative director even had his own agency Astbury Advertising. Pops thank you for your guidance, encouragement and advice. The Astbury name lives on in this industry and i am so proud to call you my dad! My stepmother Gaynor Moran, another heavy hitter in the industry and continues to work as a writer and all round legend. Gaynor also has worked as a Senior copywriter for many agencies, creative director even had her own agency. She was one of the people who started Hybrid! You have always and still do have my back and i love you very much! The best part was they NEVER just gave me work. When i started they both told me i needed to earn my stripes and only used me when i had learnt my craft. This taught so much about standing on my own two feet and the importance of producing great work. Then there is the most special person in my life. Emma Hack you are not only my wife, friend & lover. You are my world, my rock. I truly could have done any of this without you by my side. I am truly blessed to have found you. You make me a better person in every facet of my life. I am proud to be your husband and look forward to the amazing journey a head of us! To my brothers Benton Astbury & Simon Wilson i love you so much boys, we have been dealt a rough hand loosing mum so early but together we are strong! 14.01.2022 Today Astbury Audio turns 5! I would like to take the time to thank all my current & past clients. Plus all my family, awesome friends and general supporters of Astbury Audio. What a ride it has been so far...... and we are only just getting started. The last few years has seen Astbury Audio pick up a fair swag of awards, work on some amazing advertising campaigns, write some kick arse music, create and record hours of foley, book, direct and edit hundreds of actors, do a lo...t of 5.1 mixes, record atmospheres and sound effects all over the world, worked on many short films, work on an Animation tv series, recorded bands, became music director for the Strikers cricket teams (still on going), fill stadiums with sound design, work on some of Australias & New Zealands most watched movies & tv series, recorded ADR for international shows & clients like DC Legends of Tomorrow, Reckoning, The Oath, Flash, CSI, Hotel Mumbai & Fallen (just a small sample). We have also thrown a few crazy parties along the way. So as you can see we have been quite busy. But.without you all Astbury Audio wouldnt be here today so thank you from the bottom of my heart! In an ever changing industry Im proud of what Astbury Audio has achieved and look forward to the future. On a side note its about 31 years since i started in the industry.wow where did that time go? 02.01.2022 Fun fact. As i was finishing my last advertising job for this decade (feels odd to say) i thought hmmmmm what was my first job for this decade. So i went thru my calender. OMG!!!!! My first job in 2010 was for Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited and my last advertising job of this decade is for the same client! Mind blown! Thank you for your continued support over the last decade. TBH Ive done work for them for more than two decades and my father before me. End of fun fact!
