21.01.2022 CUTENESS ALERT!PUPPIES PROTECTING PENGUINS! Middle Island's famous penguins have a new hero an 18-month-old bundle of fluff called Mezzo. The maremma'...s help protect the island small penguin colony from foxes, as made famous in the 2015 film, Oddball. Disaster struck in the spring of 2017 when a fox beat the maremmas to the island, killing 140 penguins in a violent spree. But Mezzo has surpassed all expectations and is thriving on the island - as are the penguins. Experts say there are at least 50 penguins on the Island, and hope to have 100 by the end of January.
