25.01.2022 Do you feed your dog schmackos ? They are full of preservatives and lots of gross other things. Want to make your own ? Squish 500g of mince on a tray on top of 10 g of coconut oil. Place in 180 degree oven for 20 minutes, then when cold, cut slices. An amazing treat that is healthy for your dogs !

24.01.2022 Today our beautiful Lulu went over the Rainbow Bridge. We will forever be grateful for the many years of love and joy you brought into our family. Your footprints will be in our hearts forever
24.01.2022 A huge thank you to the SES for helping clean up our home and community after this devastating time. Ziggy (dog) enjoyed their visit and wishes to go on their next adventure!
24.01.2022 This is so nasty and cruel. Unfortunately this is one of the reasons we are very careful about who visits us. My heart goes out to this fur family and all the families who were excited to be getting a new family baby.
23.01.2022 Yesterday after a day filled with fun, fetch and swimming in Lake Windermere, Myself, Lucy & Tiggy had to say goodbye to our best friend Max. He collapsed and w...as rushed to the nearest vets where he was diagnosed immediately with Water Intoxication and put on drips of sodium, potassium and mannitol to increase his electrolytes and relieve pressure on his brain. After 7 hours of determination from the vets and nurses, Max was unable to pull through. Water Intoxication is a relatively rare but frequently fatal condition in dogs. At highest risk are dogs that enjoy playing in the water for long stretches. We are so unbelievably devastated that a simple game of fetch in the water, something we had done a hundred times before, resulted in such a perfect day turning into our worst nightmare. Water Intoxication was something we knew nothing about. At this time of year, so much awareness is spread about not leaving dogs in hot cars but no one ever mentions the hazardous effects of your dog ingesting too much water whilst playing. We have had to learn the hard way and all we can do now is spread awareness of this terrible condition in the hope that other dog owners are informed. Please share this post to spread awareness of Water Intoxication and save lives We Love You Maxy xxx Beware of water intoxication in dogs! This is caused by excessive water intake by the dog while playing in the water Symptoms to look out for are loss of coordination, glazed eyes, lethargy, nausea, vomiting and excessive salivation. ... if you suspect your dog is suffering from water intoxication, they need immediate medical attention.<3

19.01.2022 HOW MUCH FOR A PUPPY? Let me say a few words to you, yes you, the person who writes an email to simply ask the price. The person who calls and after hearing a price surprisedly states: I can buy a cheaper pup elsewhere. I also address you; the person who doesn’t care about papers because I want just a pet. No dog is just a pet....Continue reading
18.01.2022 TICK AWARENESS Just a reminder that tick season is now well and truly upon us. Ticks are present all year round, however with the recent warmer weather and ...now the rain, they will be out and about. We have multiple tick species throughout the Mid-North Coast but only one species can cause paralysis. There are several tick prevention products available including spot-on applications, tasty chews & tick collars. Please call the clinic and talk to one of our lovely staff to discuss tailoring a tick prevention program that suits you and your pet. If you do notice a tick on your animal please phone the clinic immediately See more

17.01.2022 Please be aware when buying a new puppy as there are a lot of scams and less than honest breeders out there. Over the last 6 months I have seen unregistered Border Collie pups advertised for up to $6900. I’m not joking!!!!! Also some websites may look authentic but on careful observations cracks can appear. One I saw recently had taken pics from other peoples sites claiming they were pups for sale at $1650. No pup.... families just scammed when paid for pup that didn’t exist.... Below is part of an ad I just saw on gumtree saying registered breeder. Yes they are registered with the pet registry BUT the pet registry is only a registration for puppy’s microchip. I am a Registered breeder with the ANKC for over 15 years and comply with all the rules and policies within. We DNA profile all our dogs and have a Breed Standard and temperament based breeding program in place. The ANKC - The Australian National Kennel Council Limited is the peak body in Australia responsible for promoting responsible breeding, showing, trialling, obedience, and other canine-related activities and the ownership of temperamentally and physically sound purebred dogs by individuals across Australia. It represents the State member bodies, including DOGS NSW. For more information visit www.ankc.org.au See more

04.01.2022 Does it matter? Yes it does. This colour can mask merle, and breeders really need to know what they are doing when producing pups into the world. Breeders who a...re invested in the breed should already understand and adhere to the breed standard and be well aware of colour, and how this will affect their lines genetically. For those who simply want to keep a pet, perhaps the term isn’t so much of an issue, but it’s a huge ‘red’ flag for breeders who don’t understand what they are producing. Unethical breeders may also try to trick potential buyers by using some of these other colour terms to claim coloured pups as ‘rare’ and profiteer. Photo credit: C Dunlop Extra thanks to the wonderful people who allowed the images of their gorgeous reds to be used.
