21.01.2022 It was great seeing all the kids back at swim this morning for the start of Term Four ...we hope everyone enjoyed their morning As families may be aware this will be the last ever term of the Asthma Swim Program as the Board has made the very difficult decision to end the program at the end of the year - if you didn’t receive the email with the letter from our chairman in regards to this please contact Jillian at [email protected] to get a copy. We look forward to a great last term and watch this space for more info about the upcoming swim Christmas party next month

21.01.2022 AFNT is pleased to announce that we will be resuming our face to face service to Territorians. But due COVID-19 a few changes have had to be put in place to keep our staff & the community safe. 1. Appointments Only - call 1800 Asthma or 89816066 2. All clients must complete a COVID screening questionnaire 3. All clients & visitors will have to have their temperature checked before entering our office. 4. All clients & visitors must follow strict hand hygiene practices ... 5. All clients must follow the 1.5 social distancing regulations 6. Spirometry will be performed as per the Thoracic Society of Australia & NZ and the National Asthma Council of Australias guidelines, in-line filters will now be used on all our spirometers. See more

15.01.2022 NEW DISCOUNT DIRECTORY LAUNCHES Over 400 businesses included! COTA NT are pleased to announce the NT Seniors Card 2020 Discount Directory will soon be available... for Territory seniors to collect at distribution points across the Territory. The printing of the Discount Directory was delayed this year due to coronavirus lock downs earlier in the year. Sue Shearer, COTA NT CEO said, We wanted to make sure that we gave all of our business partners the opportunity to be included in the directory, and we are really pleased that there are now over 400 businesses listed with the program. Seniors will be able to collect their new directories from COTA NT at Spillett House and other distribution points in Darwin this week and the 50 Plus Centre in Alice Springs, electoral offices, libraries, council offices, Territory Families shopfronts and some seniors organisations from next week.

Sam was involved in our Asthma Swim Program for many years with both boys starting from 18mths of age. Our condolences to her family & lots of love & hugs to her beautiful boys Mitchell & Harrison xx

02.01.2022 Asthma Foundation is thrilled to be launching our Asthma in Your Mate program in the NT during Asthma Week 2020! This program is designed to teach students of all ages the importance of being asthma aware and how they can help a mate, family member or a team member (anyone) having an asthma flare-up/attack, whether they be at school, park, home or sporting field. We are currently offering free asthma training for students, sporting clubs, outside care and youth organisations... (suitable for school-aged students to late teens). All participating organisations will receive a free asthma emergency kit, and all participating students an Asthma in Your Mate certificate. Schools or organisations interested in booking a free session should call 8981 6066 or email [email protected]. This initiative was made possible with funding from INPEX-operated Ichthys LNG joint venture.
