24.01.2022 I’m not sure who is more proud, Coach Rick or Casey. Well done to this little guy, always puts in 100% and is always smiling. Casey got this weeks Goulburn Amateur Swim Club’s swimmer of the week. Casey hasn’t even started Kindy yet. He has been learning to swim with Rick since he was a toddler and now looks forward to club night every week. I know how happy this makes Ricky, he loves seeing his kids get in and have a go and what brings him even more happiness is seeing the fun the kids have while doing it!

22.01.2022 Just a little favour to ask. We have been inundated with messages in regards to time changes and lessons for next year. This will be our priority next week, once the pool is closed we can focus on get everyone sorted for next year, it is a really tricky job and takes hours of work. If we haven’t got back to you with a time change we will just bear with us. Our booking line is also down at the moment but it should be up and running later in the week. Thanks for your patience, we will get there! Have a great week.

19.01.2022 What a great start to the day! This morning I took this awesome crew out for a kayak along our beautiful river. It was a nice change to the regular laps they swim, whilst still being great fitness. It brought back many memories of the times I spent kayaking at Summer Camp in Northern Michigan. It made me realise how lucky we are to live in this beautiful town. It was so nice to paddle past and see some friendly faces waving to us as they drank their morning coffee! Building ...a fun and family orientated team is so important to us at A Stroke Ahead and with the help of these guys parents bringing them down to the river at 6am we were able to have the best start to the day! I don’t know whose smile was bigger, mine or the kids! Can’t wait for next time! Thanks to James Douglas for tagging along and helping me out. #goulburnaustralia#supportlocal#shop2580 See more

13.01.2022 Just a thank you to all our clients. We have had a few of our staff not available over the last couple of weeks completing their HSC, which has meant a few disruptions to lessons, we have tried our best to keep consistency but sometimes we do have to replace your lesson with someone new. It is important to us as a business to ensure that our staff are well looked after and given the time they need to study and complete exams, their education is important to us. Everyone will be back on deck soon and ready to see this crazy crazy year out! Remember to just keep swimming.

09.01.2022 What a great day! So much fun had by all.

08.01.2022 This is a post to let you know about something special we have been working on in the background. We are so excited to bring this scholarship to A Stroke Ahead ...Swimming. The John Ruane Memorial Scholarship is in honour of our Grandad who encouraged us, supported us, pushed us and taught us to never give up. When we were building and developing A Stroke Ahead Swimming he would call out to the pool daily to check in, see how things were progressing, have a short black coffee and pass on some words of wisdom. He quickly became known as our site foreman. There were many days when things felt too hard and we felt like giving up, but with a loving nudge in the right direction , we were back on track. Grandad firmly believed that children no matter their age , background or ability deserved the opportunity to learn how to swim. Grandad sadly passed away in 2018, but has left us with his legacy. He would have loved to have seen how much A Stroke Ahead Swimming has grown and we think he would be extremely proud of the community we have built. To honour him for the support and love he gave A Stroke Ahead Swimming we have devleopled a scholarship in his name. Like Grandad we believe at A Stroke Ahead Swimming learning to swim is more than just a skill, its a skill for life and the benefits are endless. As a result A Stroke Ahead Swimming is offering two schlorahips for Learn to Swim. The scholarship will be awarded to 2 students from 2 seperate families and will be valid for 1 school term. The first scholarship will be awarded to a student aged between 6 months and 4 years and who is currently enroled at ASAS and will be valued at $165.00 and the second scholarship will be awarded to a student aged 5 years and above and who is currently enrolled at ASAS and will be valued at $330.00. The swimmers who are awarded these scholarship will have their name placed on the honour board we have had made that is on display at the pool. We are looking for swimmers who share the same values: A love for the water and a love for swimming A never give up attitude A love of the local Goulburn community Determination A drive to keep swimming at A Stroke Ahead If this is your child we want to hear from you. Email katie at [email protected] and briefly tell us why your child would benefit from this scholarship and how the A Stroke Ahead values will be upheld. We would also love to recieve applications that have been written by your little one. Applications close on the 10.10.20

05.01.2022 Just a quick message to see if anyone has left a black pair of mens sunglasses at the pool? Rick has brought home a pair that don't belong to him. Let me know if they think they might be yours.

04.01.2022 Well Ricky and his Dad, along with Foreman Jackson have been busy busy busy over the last couple of weeks, redoing the deck! Lots more space for you to spread out! It’s looking pretty smick! See you all back on ‘deck’ this week!

04.01.2022 After many months of back ground work and trialling of different systems we are happy to annouce that A Stroke Ahead Swimming is going paperless with enrollment forms! This is not only great for #sustainability but will be wonderful for my stress levels also, as we all know that our #bossman is not the best at collecting paperwork, lucky he is a good swimmer. Over the next couple of weeks you will recieve an email from us with some very simple forms to fill in and sign.... Once you have completed them all you will have to do is hit submit and they will automatically be sent back to us. All our clients will be recieving a new set of enrollment forms as we always want to make sure we have the most up to date information about your little ones. We have had lots and lots of new clients join us as well and we want to make sure we don’t miss anyone. We will be rolling them out in batches over the next couple of weeks. You don’t have to do anything until you recieve the email. We have a database with all our clients so if we happen to be missing your email address we will contact you for that. Have a great Week! Katie

04.01.2022 Just a reminder we are closed Monday for the public holiday! If anyone would like a make up lesson later in the week, shoot us a message and we can try and accomodate some extra lessons! 02.01.2022 Happy New Year! Just a quick message to say thank you to everyone for your patience. I am about 1/2 way through all the requests for change of days/ times for lessons this year. We have had over 350 requests and its like a big puzzle. Lots and lots of new clients waiting for spots as well, once everyone is moved, we will work through our waiting lists and get our new clients some spots as well. Next week Rick will be busy doing some training and professional development with... our new staff, YAY! So excited to have them. We are making good headway but can we please just ask that all requests either come through the facebook page, the booking line or to [email protected] we have had lots of requests coming through on text message and other social media platforms, this will help us streamline requests and ensure we do not miss anyone. We are not officially back open until next week but the booking line has been reopened early and will be back up and running from tomorrow afternoon. Thanks again everyone! Can't wait to see everyone in 2021.
