22.01.2022 And Then There Was Rain!... . The river bed / bioswale you see here is the project we had been pouring our heart and sweat into last year... . We travelled up and down the sapphire coast stopping quite frequently (for sustenance and wee breaks) in all of the little towns we all heard about that were burnt significantly or were under threat for prolonged periods...... . After the horrific bushfires throughout NSW our friends & clients have had enormous flood rains to deal with now... . These photos are the images our client shared with us during the flooding rain then shortly after... . A landscape is so much more than something to look at, to make the house feel more "socially accepted"...it is in some cases an integral part of life... . This landscape had to tick so many more boxes, as do all of our gardens, then your average "monoculture" species garden of prestine hedges and a row of ice berg roses... . This garden, one of our gardens, saved two lives and a home this time... . From creating a fire break for flying embers to directing floods and filtrating that water back into our river systems. This one we are truly honoured to have been apart of her creation! .
