23.01.2022 Don't miss this exciting series of immersive, interactive, learning experiences. Come learn about robots, holograms, 3D design, and much more! Join us for these STEAM activities at the 2019 TOM Makerspace Party. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Each of STEAM's five subjects share a common approach and focus. They require gathering and using evidence to create knowledge or solve problems. STEAM learning happens naturally everyday as children ex...plore, play, and try new things The following STEAM Activities will be available throughout the 4pm to 8pm event. Merge Cubes A Merge Cube is a holographic form cube, which has different patterns on each side. Individuals use a phone or iPad, that has the Merge Cube app installed; and use the app to transform the cube into digital 3D imagines or scenes on the phone or iPad. Individuals can click on the imagines or scenes on the technology device, and learn more about the onjects. Sketchup The Sketchup App is a 3D Modelling app on a phone or iPad, that individuals can use to create their own drawings, architectural, interior and landscape designs, along with mechanical engineering, video game and film designs. Sphero The Sphero SPRK+ is a round robot that individuals control using the Sphero App on a phone or iPad. Individuals control the Sphero by coding the bot in three different ways - drawing, block or text. We will be using the Sphero to explore games of putt putt and bowling. mBot The mBot is a car look-a-like robot that individuals control using the Makeblock App on a phone or iPad. Individuals control the mBot by coding the bot in multiple different ways drive with arrows, drawing, voice control, and can also play music. Robots There will be a range of Robots available, including mechanical arms. These robots are controlled by a remote or app on a phone or iPad. These robots are a great way for individuals and children to engage in social group activities, while learning the basic operations of robotic technology.
