25.01.2022 VALE Subzero Australia's favourite racehorse passed away today; 10 weeks after his adored owner Graham Salisbury. Subbie, 32, was euthanased after experiencing ...heart failure. Bendigo Equine Hospital vet Sarah Jalim put Subbie down around 2.30pm today; the same time Graham passed away in Bendigo in June - which was also a Saturday. Racing will never have ambassadors quite like these two - the Melbourne Cup winner and the clerk of the course - and those who enjoyed their hospital, nursing home, race day and school visits will be counting themselves lucky they met this special pair. Our sympathy to Graham's wife Anita and their children Anthony and Nikki, and extended family.
