06.01.2022 Top 6 tips for Year 12 students sitting their HSC exams this upcoming October: 1. Get enough SLEEP !! - We can't stress this point enough. No sleep = Lack of efficiency = Unsatisfied results... 2. NEW study timetable - Having a study timetable specified just for the HSC final exams is crucial. It will be quite different to the timetable you've adapted to from the start of year 12 as you will be putting WAY more hours into these last exams. 3. Take your preparation SERIOUSLY - Similar to what most of our tutors did, decide when you are going to adapt to your new timetable. Draw your timetable on a big A3 piece of paper --> write down all your exam dates, tutor sessions, days of revision/memorising & slide in when you are going to do your practice papers 4. PAST PAPERS - Depending on your preparation & results throughout the year, the number of past papers you attempt will vary for everyone. Ideally, we like to set a minimum of 6 past papers for each subject. For those who prepare earlier or know they can handle more preparation - aim for 10 past papers for each subject 5. REVIEW - Completing a 3hour past paper is only half the mission. You now have to spend the next hour doing marking your paper & doing a review. Your review should be written on a A4 piece of paper (or at the front of your exam) & consist of all your mistakes. It is important that you understand why you made these mistakes & to work on them. Trust us, it is much worse to make a mistake on a question you've practised than a question you've never seen before. 6. BACK YOURSELF - You've been working hard for the last 8 months & the last thing you need is for stress/anxiety of failing your final exams to kick in. BACK YOURSELF - if you've killed every exam this year and continue working as hard for your final exams, you can expect to get the amazing ATAR that you hoped for. If you haven't worked to your full potential - now is a huge opportunity to do so & get your Atar up. Need a final boost? Contact us at AtarUp.com.au today!
