16.01.2022 The 2015 Australian Ice Hockey League Finals Series presented by Air Canada was viewed in every continent on Earth with the exception of Antarctica. Late in the Grand Final the live stream was responsible for 6 gigabits per second of traffic into Australia. Ultimately it was seen in 771 cities across 89 countries. If you are ever in any doubt as to whether hockey is advancing in Australia just think about where we were only five short years ago. The Icehouse (not yet Medib...ank) had just opened. A couple of hundred people saw the game via live stream. The walls were bereft of sponsor signage; the dasher boards a stark white as a foundation for the huge growth the league was soon to see. Today those boards and walls are full of paying sponsors. One game per week is beamed in high definition into 2.7 million homes, hotel rooms, and venues nationwide via Fox Sports. You can watch AIHL games via in-flight entertainment on some long-haul flights. Events such as the Del Basso head-stand of 2014 have been headline news both in Australia and across the world. Look beyond the awesome Goodall Cup and wonderful hockey citizens pictured and see what we do; the game, the cup and the people have not changed - but everything else in the background that supports them has come a very long way. 09.01.2022 Toward the end of last year our Executive Producer James travelled over to the home of the Pittsburgh Penguins at the CONSOL Energy Center to catch up with the fantastic crew of Root Sports Pittsburgh. We were made to feel very welcome as they showed us the ropes on game-day. Needless to say - Australian Hockey was a real winner from this visit, and we can't thank the true professionals at Root Sports enough. Bring on the Australian Ice Hockey League season 2016!
