If you are still using a scratchy sponge, do your car a huge favour and grab a Gyeon Mitt. Machine washable and very high quality, the mitt will last you years of use. After washing you can use the huge Gyeon microfibre towel to dry the vehicle with, or invest in a Blo air dryer to blow out every last drop from that pesky grille. Grab some car care products for this long weekend! Open all day tomorrow!

22.01.2022 People always ask what the difference is between a Cut & Polish and proper paint correction. So here’s a meme to illustrate, of us fixing some one else’s attempt *I’m hilarious*

22.01.2022 By now, most of our followers would have seen or heard about the incident in Stockland Shopping Centre involving a McLaren and a Ferrari being jumped on and spat on by a coward. The cars are owned by a company from the Gold Coast Super Car Rides and they are currently promoting their business around shopping centres in Queensland. This incident happened on their first night in Townsville... Having cars like these visit is quite rare and so exciting to see and as someone tha...t lives and breathes cars (and has an incredible soft spot for McLaren’s), the footage was sickening and made me embarrassed that again, our town was put into the spotlight for such pathetic behaviour. After not being able to get it out of my mind one evening I reached out to the guys with the cars on Facebook, as I believed we could possibly help. I didn’t want any payment, this was purely just to show them that this is a good city and we try our best to look after one another the best we can. I didn’t want this horrible experience making these guys hate our city and never come back again. As some one that has lived here for 18 years now, there is so much good here and we will not let a very small group of people ruin it for the rest of us. My message turned out to be fairly good timing as they needed a safe place to store the cars so it was decided we would lock them up on Sunday and they could unwind and relax upstairs in our whiskey lounge (see, it does get some use sometimes!) After falling in love with our studio they wanted to grab some footage of the cars so after a quick phone call to a good friend that operates Visual Reflection, we had a cameraman ready to go and made a little fun clip that would make Flo Rida envious, well maybe a little bit With our amazingly talented friends from Dekadent Townsville we quickly did some panel work repairs and a two stage paint correction and the cars came up perfect! We were so lucky that the damage wasn’t any worse than it was as it would have been tens of thousands of dollars in repairs otherwise. To the guys from the Gold Coast I hope you enjoyed your stay and thank you so much for trusting us with the cars. All of us had such a great time with you and please don’t let this one idiot ruin your experience. We hope you come back! To everyone involved in this project and the last minute help you all did, thank you all so much for making this possible it meant a lot to me and you all did so damn well Phil

19.01.2022 Xpel Stealth PPF satin conversion sneak peek This is going to look so good!

18.01.2022 Something a little different. Wrapping the grille in Xpel paint protection film on the Ford Raptor (doing the whole front end). Because the grille is a satin plastic finish we are using the Stealth PPF to not change the finish of it. If we used the normal Ultimate+ Xpel film it would make the grille go to a gloss finish.

18.01.2022 Red goes faster

18.01.2022 The rear badge in the AMG is the actual camera flap that lifts up. So after gently removing it from the vehicle the badge was taken off, adhesive cleaned up and Xpel Stealth paint protection film installed. We computer cut a circle slightly smaller than the outer diameter to make sure the pressure of the badge didn’t lift the edge. Then the new gloss black badge was installed. It’s a small detail, but needed to give the overall illusion that this will be satin OEM paint.

18.01.2022 Ultra soft interior and exterior brush set, to get into those tight areas without scratching. No exposed metal, full plastic design. Available upstairs in store. $34.99 kit - 1 long and 1 short

16.01.2022 One final splash of the yellow we used on the calipers and wheel logo, we put into the new gloss black badge. It’s such a little touch but one of our favourites

15.01.2022 Today we finally start the full Xpel Stealth PPF installation on the C63S! On the 26th and 27th of September we will be at the Big Boys Toys Expo along with Magmedic - Alloy Wheel Refurbishment unveiling the new satin look to the AMG along with a few new parts and modifications (if we have enough time to do it all ) so come on down and check it out!

15.01.2022 2002 R34 GTR V Spec II Nur With GTR prices going absolutely crazy at the moment due to the US market, what you are looking at is probably one of the most sought after specs of GTR in Australia at the moment. A Bayside Blue, low km Nur edition, with the Nismo catalogue absolutely thrown at it. Current market value puts this in the $400,000-$450,000 range with only a handful of blue Nurs left in the country. What this will be worth in 20 years time is any ones guess, but ...achieving the 1 million dollar mark isn’t out of the realm of possibility..... With this vehicle we went to town on it doing a concourse level detail. Two stage paint correction, being very careful not to take to much of the extremely thin OEM clear off the vehicle as the 4 layer pearl paint with tinted clear is very difficult to colour match. After correction, the vehicle was degreased and ceramic coated with GYEON quartz Australia Duraflex which consists of Gyeon’s primer, base coat and top coat. The cloudy headlights were lightly sanded, machine polished and coated with Gyeon Trim. While on the hoist the wheels were thoroughly cleaned to remove all tar and old wheel weight adhesive before being coated in Gyeon Rim and the same was done to the inner guards, suspension and brakes making the wells look like the car had never been driven. Interior, engine bay and undercarriage were also given some love with the carbon fibre rear diffuser lightly polished and coated to restore the dry carbon’s natural lustre. Nuts and bolts under the vehicle were cleaned and sprayed with an anti corrosion spray to try and preserve the vehicle as much as possible. After spending a week on the vehicle, sadly the car had to finally leave and return back down south to its lucky owner. Big thanks for trusting us with the vehicle and travelling all this way to us, much appreciated Anyway, enjoy the pictures guys! www.attention-to-detail.com.au 0421 735 333 U3A, 16-18 Gurney Street Garbutt, Townsville

10.01.2022 Wheels and brakes coming off on the C63S and heading to Magmedic - Alloy Wheel Refurbishment to get the wheels machined (transport damage) and then painted completely in gloss black with no polished lip. Calipers we have decided to go with Ferrari yellow to make them pop behind the wheels a little more and then fitting 15mm bolt on spacers to get a more flush finish on the wheels

06.01.2022 Is the Ghost immobiliser compatible with new hybrid vehicles? It’s a question we are now commonly getting, especially on the popular new Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. Yes it is fully compatible and works seamlessly with the Hybrid system. This is the fourth RAV4 Hybrid we have now done in Townsville and I’m sure we will protect many more. 06.01.2022 Gyeon’s newly launched wax now available! For people that still enjoy the process of using a wax protective product, Gyeon’s new fluorine based wax features a unique twist style container that can be rolled onto the supplied foam applicator pad. One roll of wax will do numerous large vehicles for months of glossy and hydrophobic protection. We recommend washing and claying the vehicle to remove imbedded contamination before applying the wax to the vehicle and letting it ha...ze for 30 minutes before buffing off with the supplied microfibre cloth. The wax is safe to use with Gyeon’s ceramic coatings as well. Gyeon wax $84.99

05.01.2022 Beautiful C63S AMG in the studio today

05.01.2022 200 Series Landcruisers will generally be used for long highway driving and cop a lot of stone chips. A popular colour for these cars is Toyota’s pearl white, which unfortunately is a nightmare to colour match when trying to do touch ups or respraying panels. A very popular Xpel kit is our partial front which recreates what the old school leather car bras used to do, protecting the vital frontal impact area most exposed to road damage. Normally the partial front kit cons...ists of: Partial bonnet Partial guards Headlights Mirrors Front bumper Partial front Xpel kits $1,499 installed If you are putting a bullbar on the front, then we can just exclude that piece to reduce the cost. Being computer cut we can easily choose which pieces to cut out for your requirements. Contact us today about protecting your new vehicle. www.attention-to-detail.com.au/xpel-paint-protection-film/

02.01.2022 There are numerous ways to paint brakes and you can do it for fairly cheap with a rattle can on the car if you so desire. However doing it properly is a huge job and takes a lot of time. Given the $170k RRP cost of a C63S, we weren’t going to cut corners with this. Magmedic - Alloy Wheel Refurbishment next door to us does a better than factory finish in our opinion due to the durability of their method. The OEM red paint was already flaking on the AMG calipers and given the... amount of cars we work on and see, nearly all factory big brakes after a few years of use start to lose colour if they have no clear coat, or the clear coat starts to lift. After removing the calipers from the vehicle (a time consuming and annoying job in itself) the calipers were cleaned up and sanded before primer was applied. Next the custom mixed base coat yellow that we chose was applied, followed by a layer of pearl to give it extra pop out in the sun. Next some vinyl stickers were applied, just like the OEM calipers had and finally sprayed with clear coat. The result is a phenomenal bright yellow colour that really pops! We put the colour next to HSV’s yellow (which we love by the way) and in comparison this is a far brighter crisp colour (HSV yellow is the left card). Massive thank you to the guys at Mag Medic, they have exceeded our expectations with this. So if you want the highest possible brake colour change option, contact them about your vehicle today! The gloss black wheels are currently getting done and we will be doing a nice custom touch to them to tie in with the brakes

01.01.2022 A lot goes into refinishing a wheel, a LOT more than most people would even think. So we thought we would document the process of the guys that we work along side with next door to us at Magmedic - Alloy Wheel Refurbishment with our own AMG wheels. We posted about the brake calipers being done, but now here are the wheels. The OEM C63S wheels are a satin black finish with a polished lip. They are nice, however given the satin Xpel PPF installation we are doing, a nice gloss... contrast would look better. The wheels had a little bit of gutter rash on the wheels from transport damage and they had been refinished in the past, but poorly. After the tyre was stripped the wheels were blasted clean and etched ready for paint. However given the poor condition of the paint, the guys weren’t happy with how the wheels were at this stage which would normally be ready for paint. So a decision was made to soak the wheels in a special paint stripping bath for two days, to bring the wheels completely back to raw alloy and start fresh. The wheels were primed, painted a high gloss black finish, the AMG engraving carefully painted pearl yellow to match the brake calipers (an extremely nice touch that we are so glad we did!) and then clear coated. Finally the centre caps had the Mercedes emblem removed and were then also painted gloss black to match the wheels. So happy with how they turned out guys! Two days until Big Boys Toys Expo, we got this.
