25.01.2022 When the scorching Aussie weather hits, pack a KONG with the goods the night before and stick it in the freezer for a sweet, cool serve up the next day! #ateasedogtraining . . . . . . . STUFFING: I primarily feed my girl raw (#vetsallnatural & #bigdog roo), but you can easily soak kibble in water (I stick with LifeWise) until its soft, throw in some special toppings, in this case tuna in spring water and natural yoghurt and freeze.... FOOD: if youre not sure what food youre best to serve, speak to a trusty vet thats well versed in nutrition, or seek guidance from an actual qualified canine nutritionist, to tailor a diet suitable for your dogs individual needs - btw, that aint Dr. Google

25.01.2022 You’ll also find us fun kids rolling around at PRODOG and running group classes. STEPS TO ROLLING OVER: . STEP 1: DOWN POSITION... Have the dog comfortably getting into a down position. This can be set up by luring the dog into a down using high valued food. NOTE: All dogs naturally lean towards a preferred side once in a relaxed down. Pay attention to which side they shift their rear end, as that will be the side towards which you’ll begin rolling your dog. . STEP 2: BEGINNINGS OF THE ROLL If rolling to the right, place some food in the right hand OR if rolling to the left, place food in your left hand - You’ll be better mechanically set up to comfortably and smoothly lure the dog out. NEXT: Tightly lure the dog’s nose down and around towards the outer shoulder blade. Some dogs require some pace behind the luring while others require slower guidance. Experiment which your dog sticks with best. NOTE: Some dogs aren’t all that comfortable/confident following a lure into a full roll, so break down the task and build from a half roll, or just the head turn. . STEP 3: COMPLETING THE ROLL Proceed to lure your dog all the way round to the other side. Mark on point of completion of the roll and reward. Once the dog is reliably rolling over, introduce the ROLL command just before you send them rolling over from a down position.

24.01.2022 Just keep swimming, just keep swimming... then well move onto SUPn . . . Paid the @woofswimteam a visit today to introduce my girl to a floatation vest and swimming with one on. This was also her first swimming session in a pool. I hope to introduce my girl to stand up paddle boarding at some point next year, but before doing so, I want to ensure shes comfortable wearing a floatation vest, as well as swimming with one on. ... This footage was taken 4 swim runs in. Fair to say Im chuffed with her achievements. Big thanks to Mahli from @canineunitytraining for the experienced staff assistance

24.01.2022 We’ve been quiet online because we’ve been busy offline; playing & being I’m big on being present when with my dog, something I heavily preach, and as such, the intrusion of my phone often isn’t there. If we want our dogs to check in with us when out and about, we must be there with them, not online. ... Watch them, see them, hear them, feel them, know them THAT well.

23.01.2022 Don’t waste the environment you walk in, use it to your advantage instead of letting it separate you

22.01.2022 Always a sweet treat learning from and watching the clean mechanical ways of an inspiring trainer. Thanks @precisek9 for showing us the way and gifting me the opportunity to watch my girl in beautiful action under your clear guidance #ateasedogtraining #letknowletthinkletbe

21.01.2022 SMALL BUSINESS PLUG: So many small businesses enable us to turn up to work and serve up our best, from great cafes (our much loved caffeine/energy juice dealers) to top-notch health care providers (Osteos, Physios, Massage Therapists, etc.). Without their quality service, wed be grumpy, sluggish, rough moving, scattered a***holes. So, a big shout-out goes to Paramount Physiotherapy in Williamstown, who have recently been helping me get back on my feet, so that I may return t...o my high spirited play with my girl. This place also focusses heavily on injury prevention, so if youre in need of an exercise program to help strengthen the body, so that you may power on in life, give them a call . . . ~ Success is always a team effort ~ #ateasedogtraining

21.01.2022 INSIGHT: Why not show you the extension of my shick shkills when Im not dog training! . . . . . . . Calm your creative farm, the tunes not mine. That belongs to Rhythm & Sound. NO, I dont run Miss Fixit, so bloody do it yourself.

20.01.2022 To stay on top of my game, I need to be well rested, mentally, emotionally as well as physically. To recharge, I sometimes come here...

20.01.2022 IN GREAT HANDS: A day of pamper and care . . . I don’t just seek care when there’s a problem, I also seek care to support and strengthen my girl to prevent problems.

20.01.2022 EASTER FUN: Purposeful play is everything when it comes to your relationship with your dog. We must first and foremost connect, should we wish to hold the power of attention. So, if you’re struggling with your dog listening to you, start by asking yourself what your play game is like, not your throw game, your play game.... #ateasedogtraining

19.01.2022 When its bloody wet and cold outside, we simply skip the sooks and move the training inside! #ateasedogtraining

19.01.2022 CRAZY: If you don’t offer your dog appropriate outlets for what they’re instinctually crazy about, you’ll drive them crazy through frustration of unmet, innate needs and in turn, they’ll end up driving you crazy and that there is on us as owners. #ateasedogtraining

19.01.2022 BIG PICTURE: Keeping my girl safe whilst working towards nailing the #footstall means being able to securely hold her, thus comfortably carry her weight. Prior to my private with the @flipping_disc_dogz regarding this trick, I was heavily focusing on my girls training and not on my own. It wasnt until the guys pointed out the obvious, the need for me to have the strength and stability to take her jump, that I realised I had not paid proper attention to the overall picture, ...of which Im a big part. Moving forward, Im using a sand bag thats near to my girls weight to get used to easily holding her weight. Ill also have to account for the force at which shell hit my feet upon call up. I can prepare her all I want, but if I dont prepare myself, no trick will work safely. Thanks for the sweet reminder guys #ateasedogtraining #letknowletthinkletbe #trainsmart

18.01.2022 Testing the Liker ball for grip and we sure likea what we got! Made in UA available for purchase at PRODOG in West Footscray.... #ateasedogtraining #likerball

18.01.2022 BACK ON TRACK: Thanks to the use of @prodogtraining s dog runner treadmill, my girls been able to continue moving her sweet, energetic butt within a controlled environment while waiting for a couple of surgical cuts to heal, meaning no chance of any interruptions by random dogs off lead. Active days, happy days, settled dog. #ateasedogtraining #letknowletthinkletbe

17.01.2022 Sheesh, this dog should be in showbiz with this kiss arse act #beggingdoneright

17.01.2022 Vet space should also be a fun space. . . . Whilst waiting for results after swobs, jabs and pokes, my pay is controlled play. Use that clinic time and space wisely and leave on a positive note.

17.01.2022 Simply put and I couldnt agree more

16.01.2022 A quick snapshot of how I go about introducing the concept of bike riding to a dog. NOTE: This is not a one session process. What you see would be broken down into many short, positive exposure sessions, using part of their daily intake of food as reinforcement. For the sake of framing, I prefer to teach placement by working in circles before I take off in straight stretches. This helps with boundary setting as well as pace setting. ... WHERE TO START? Bike aside, the first point of call is making sure your dog understands basic commands and can walk without pulling on the lead. Once the above point is in place, start out slow and start out walking along side your bike, marking and rewarding at various successful intervals. Build up speed over time. SAFETY POINTS! Biking is not an activity for puppies! Don’t bike with your dog until they’re at least 12-18months and you have gotten the OK from your vet. Adult dogs: Before you go attaching your dog to a bike and having them run on hard/uneven surfaces, get medical clearance from your vet, to ensure they’re set for the work load physically. Dogs love running, but naturally they never run for lengthy periods of time, so don’t take off on long rides from the get go and be sure to incorporate regular rest/drink breaks. Speak to a quality vet or canine Physio / Osteo to be well informed where you’re best to start with your dog physically - checks are cheaper than injuries! Common sense rule: limit distance covered until dog is conditioned properly. If biking primarily on pavement, slowly build up your dogs tolerance over time, so to allow the paw pads time to toughen up. If keen to continue, invest in a quality bike attachment to keep you and your dog safe once on the go.

15.01.2022 INSPIRATION: I had the absolute pleasure of securing a kick-arse private with Australias awesome @flipping_disc_dogz to improve on some of my canine disc skills. Coming from a sport background I take the work of an athletic dog seriously and that includes ensuring all skills are safely performed and that the dogs foundation work is rock solid, and no one knows that better than these two champs! If you care to see some ridiculously talented canine disc work at play, head to ...their page and follow them! . . . . Special thanks to @prodogtraining for offering up the great training space! #ateasedogtraining #letknowletthinkletbe See more

15.01.2022 We love our #puller rings!!! Turn on sound and enjoy the me show, the her show, the our show, the Puller show. Really, the only show that matters is that I show up every time I step up to this fun kid. . . . I use the Puller rings a lot for various reasons and in different ways, but I primarily use them for warm-up and strengthening work, especially when it comes to activities that involve jumping, like disc play Get your set from @rhuarcspetsupplies in Newport!

15.01.2022 PLAY BUDDIES: my girl having the time of her life tugging in the rain with bestie Loki. . . . SOCIALISATION IS IMPORTANT, however, its the well matched type thus the positive type that matters, not the random park I dont know any of these raving OR sh!t get me out of here dogs type. Dont be that owner that lines their dog up to smash or be smashed in the ring of fire by randoms - the mosh pit otherwise known as a dog park. ... If you care for reckless doggy demolition derby, by all means, dog park your socks off and OD the dog you dont want, just so it crashes on the cheap when you get home.

14.01.2022 JUST IN: Flyber Toy Test Run! . . . What is this Flyber? Super double-sided flying disc made out of soft and flexible material, thats gentle on dogs jaw and teeth. Can it roll? Yes! Better than perfect village potato rolling down big hill.... Does it fly good? If you throw good, it fly good. If you throw like monkey, it fly like banana. How about grip? Excellent grip! BUT, not for chewing OK, its Flyber not Chewber. Extra information Floats in water BPA Free, non-toxic material Easy to pick up Doesnt break, unless you leave it with dog to eat.

13.01.2022 POSITIVE PLAY: We as humans gravitate to those that complement our ways, as do dogs, so when looking for healthy dog to dog interactions, aside from looking at a dogs emotional state of being and owners control of dog, look at play styles - round up, pin down, crash n bash, nip or slap - and be sure to partner your dog with the most suitable play mate. We as humans dont care to interact with all simply due to personality/trait differences, so why expect it from our dogs...? TIP! First up when meeting up: Choose a safe, neutral location Choose a well matched play mate Choose one on one @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

13.01.2022 TARGET PRACTICE: the only way to improve a throw is to work on it. . Very happy with one throw in this clip as all aligned and felt effortless... Now to replicate this feel and follow through. . Big thanks to the fab @flipping_disc_dogz for the set up idea ... . #ateasedogtraining #practicemakesprogress See more

12.01.2022 Back by popular demand! Crayzi Dog series continues! . . . . . NOW SHOWING: Wizardry Windex episode - Cleaning up your dogs bad habits. ... Disclaimer: No Windex was wasted during the filming of this episode

10.01.2022 OUTTAKE SPECIAL from Wizardry Windex : Dont worry! . . . . . SERIOUSLY THOUGH: In order for our dogs to relax, we need to deliver calm and controlled energetic flow. We need to rid of worry. When we worry, our entire body tenses to hold our s#*t together (mental, emotional, physical) this in turn leaves the dog sitting in a heavy, compressed energetic space which, suppresses flow and interrupts tempo. Reactivity occurs as a result of such tension.... In order to move well with your dog, or as I like to say, dance well, you must feel the dogs placement and movements to smoothly and confidently take the lead. Take note from the dancing Greeks: youll find your feet once you feel the beat, so worry less and dance more! OPA! #ateasedogtraining #letknowletthinkletbe

09.01.2022 I love this moment and I love this dog - This was me giving my girl a round of applause after an uplifting play session at a recent workshop. Always take time to acknowledge how hard they work to please, for our success is also their doing #ateasedogtraining #letknowletthinkletbe

08.01.2022 Heres a clip of my girl and I working on our directional send outs at Pro Dog Training, where Im very fortunate to also work. I focus heavily on play and energy because to me the partnership between human and dog is a dance. Through play we find our feet and set our own beat which leaves us working as one.

08.01.2022 My sessions are usually full of genuine sh!t YEAHHHs! . . . I invest heavily in play because its bloody FUN and positive and makes most feel loved up, happy and simply awesome, unless the one youre playing with is dull as dishwater. When playing with a teammate, Im always turning up to motivate. The teachers that easily gain my focus are those that make learning fun, not those that are dry thus basically a yawn fest.... BOTTOM LINE: Deliver the attitude and energy that captivates, that inspires and leaves them wanting more. Anything short of that will have your dog wanting to skip class because youre bloody boring! #ateasedogtraining #dontbeboring

08.01.2022 PHYSICAL CARE: We all need physical treatment at some point to help the body relax or repair and dogs are no exception. The fact of the matter is, dogs arent designed to jump high repeatedly and so, if Im interested in responsibly caring for and supporting my dog properly when participating in disc play, I make sure my girls body is regularly well looked after by those in the know. Think smart. Play smart.... Osteopathic treatment at Well Beings Holistic Pet Care, West Footscray

08.01.2022 SOLID SERVICE: Health / Happiness / Balance . . . Energy isnt a wanky word, its a scientific word that plays a huge role when it comes to my work with dogs. Im talking about my energetic placement. If my own health isnt looked after, my ability to serve my clients (people & dogs) to the highest of standards is hindered. At the end of the day, I am in an industry of care and to step up to your dog with calm, control and clarity, I genuinely need to have my sh!t togethe...r. Dogs arent stupid, they are exceptionally present in the moment and very much sense the surrounding energy, whether were stressed, nervous, frustrated, distracted etc. and to that they respond, normally with So, heres me serving me through treatment to also serve you all better. 07.01.2022 Absolutely loving the wicked new Ice Dye discs that Ive got to play with! Massive thanks to the crazy talented @flipping_disc_dogz for the crackn inspiration, top-notch guidance and generous support. -ALSO- Special thanks to @herodiscusa for the crackerjack quality discs.

03.01.2022 Balance Training: eventually Id like for my girl to stick em up on my back from a stall #discdogtraining . . . . For me, stability and control are key, so patience and calm from me is key. I may throw in a stand to correct her sit so to better prep her for the rise, but I also highly praise if she self corrects, because it matters to me that shes reading the comfort of her own placement #ateasedogtraining #letknowletthinkletbe Intro tune by Gogol Bordello
