12.01.2022 ST. JOHN'S WORT--is it good for neuropathy or pain syndromes? This is from a thread in response to Thomas Garran, 7 Song, and others. I'm going to support SJW ...oil which I use daily. Great as an anti-wrinkle application to the face and other areas daily. Wrinkles are in large part due to chronic inflammatory processes in the dermis (partly due to barterial dysbiosis), but also many noxious agents applied to the body such as many corporate body care products, etc. SJW oil (and tincture or dried juice powder) is very effective as a nerve restorative and to slow the progression of neuropathy, whether due to blood sugar issues or just aging--chronic compression of the nerves, especially in the feet. SJW has proven to be the most effective daily application to reduce tingling and numbness. Internally, the juice (or if not available, the tincture) can be taken concurrently. But yes, it is not as effective for dysfunction or injury to nerves involved in transmitting pain sensation. For this, one thinks of the many essential oils that penetrate the dermis and can directly affect the nerves and junctions, the most effective being any oil with natural salicylates, like wintergreen oil.
