25.01.2022 A huge clean-up we're almost finished doing down in Coogee. Hopefully the owners allow me to intensify/develop the gardens & make them look stunning for them. Sooo much potential P.S.- I finally got a pic of the local wildlife It kept scurrying away from me before I could get a pic of it
24.01.2022 A surprise jumped out at me today whilst I was organizing some empty pots for a client ;-) Biggest frog i've seen yet :-o :-D
21.01.2022 The beginnings of a tropical garden reno we've just commenced. We spent the first session clearing it back to basically a blank canvas & putting back/transplanting the plants that will end up being the canopy plants. The client is unfortunately quite house-bound & restricted in venturing out to public places, due to various health issues. This garden is one of the few things she'll see on a daily basis. So the pressure is on to create her something very visually pleasing t...hrough her windows. But I thrive on pressure & LOVE a good challenge. Challenge is an understatement with this project! It's an irregular shape & quite narrow. Plus, quite height restricted, as the eaves cover most of the area; only a small area is open to the sky for select plants to grow up to create a canopy. Let the creative juices flow!!!
19.01.2022 This Willy Wagtail kept me company for most of the time I was working in my last client's garden today. To begin with he was loudly indignant that I was encroaching in his territory, but he quickly realised I could be quite beneficial in finding him tasty morsels in the way of various garden critters whilst I was weeding/turning over the topsoil. We managed to uncover a cricket, a Grass Spider & a worm for him, amongst other tiny flying insects. Twas an extremely enjoyable & satisfying end to the work week #bird #willywagtail #fauna #gardencompanion #keepingmecompany #gardenjoy #gardener #gardening #garden #gardenersofinstagram
18.01.2022 'Raising the Roof' Trimming up the canopy line of both these Carob & Illawarra Flame trees, so the clients aren't hitting their head when mowing the lawns, plus of course the aesthetic aspect @ Gosnells, Western Australia, Australia
16.01.2022 Pics of some hedging I did recently for two new clients. The first pic is of basically the test that my skills were sufficient enough to take me on as this particular client's new gardener. They had had issues with hiring decent gardeners, so it's totally understandable being put to the test. As the saying goes- 'try before you buy' The other two pics are just some of the work done on my initial visit to an elderly new client, who had always done his own garden himself. It'...s always an honour to be allowed the privilege of taking over the work in someone's garden when they can no longer do it themselves, for one reason or another. Especially for older clients, as their garden has been tended to lovingly for such a long time, so not just anyone can take over & carry on the maintenance as they would like it to be. So, I may not study & do written tests to prove my skills & knowledge, but every time I take on a new regular client, that first visit is always a practical test, which still is always exciting when I pass & am taken on as a new client's gardener P.S.- in case anyone is wondering, the client instructed I leave the hedgings on the lawn (as in the first pic), as he'll mow them up when he does his lawns. Naturally this went against my rule of always leaving a work area spotless, but I understood his idea
16.01.2022 A stunning sunset last night. As I left my clients place I just HAD to pull over & take a quick pic It's as if the sky was on fire!
15.01.2022 Giving this Hibiscus 'Apple Blossom' a major trim, as it was getting too big for the area. One of MANY jobs for a large garden clean-up i'm currently doing for this particular client. @ Helena Valley
15.01.2022 Some hedging I did for an elderly client at the start of the week. Each monthly visit we concentrate on tidying up one element/area of the gardens. It's slowly looking nicer
15.01.2022 A Port Wine Magnolia I converted into a standard for one of my elderly clients. Quite happy with the way it turned out What do you guys think? @ Perth, Western Australia
12.01.2022 Found this little beauty in amongst a clients long grass. The markings are so beautiful! We waited for it to trek across the 'lawn' to a new home before we took the grass with the mower & wipper snipper. #spider #arachnid #nature #naturalbeauty #joysofnature #gardener #gardening
11.01.2022 I'm looking for a gardener/s to join my team. In the near future i'll be expanding my business so will be looking for sub-contractor/s. If applicants already have this capacity an added bonus. In the short-term they'll be training & working alongside me, to ensure their work is of the quality and standard I require it to be. Attention to detail is a MUST! Flexibility is required as shifts can/will change week to week, from 1-4 days/week. Going forwards as the business expands... & they potentially begin to subcontract they'll continue to work casually with me when required. All work offered will be casual. They'll ideally need to have at the very least experience in garden/lawn maintenance. I'm happy to teach/pass on my knowledge during the training period, but certainly not starting from scratch. The successful candidate must show an avid interest in gardening & not see this as merely just another job. They'll also need to work in a team and efficiently work to strict time guidelines, as required/expected tasks must be completed within the set timeframe. Ideally they would have an outgoing personality as they'll sometimes be required to engage with my clients. The ability to easily follow instructions/advise is also a necessary requirement. You must be available for an immediate start ie. this week. If you feel you are suitable for this position & confidently meet ALL the above requirements, please forward your resume to:- [email protected] Also, so I have an idea of whom i'm communicating with, i'll require a link to a social media account or be able to send/attach a photo of yourself along with your application. Thanks and good luck.
11.01.2022 A frame of a Cactii & Succulent garden I created for a client. The rocks & wood were sourced from elsewhere in the garden. The dead wood gives the new garden an 'aged' look.
09.01.2022 Before and after pics of a garden clean-up recently done for a client. Part 1... #gardener #gardening #garden #tropicalgarden #pool #clean_up #client @ Perth, Western Australia
09.01.2022 This week I turned this garden bed into a Gerbera flower bed for some elderly clients of mine. When it comes into its own, it'll be a vibrant array of all the different colours #flowers #flowerbed #colours #pretty #gerbera #clients #garden #gardener #gardening @ Perth, Western Australia
09.01.2022 Garden clean-ups are one area of garden maintenance we specialise in. If you also would like us weave our magic & transform your garden from unsightly to something you're proud of again, please don't hesitate to visit our business page to find our contact details. Here are some before & after pics of a garden clean-up we did for a new client this week. Rain set in towards the end of the job, making for messy conditions, ending up with black soil/mud all over the paving, all which we had to hose off of course, to leave the clients place looking lovely
08.01.2022 Some of the various different styles & sizes of roses i've pruned thusfar this rose pruning season for my clients. @ Perth, Western Australia
06.01.2022 A massive garden clean-up we did this week for a new property/client in Roleystone. As you can see by the difference in the shadows, we were there for the whole day. My offsider basically spent most of the time raking the piles of leaves, which made for two loads to take to the tip. I did the pruning, wippersnipping, cutting up the fallen branches so they could be taken away, and blowing; plus new tasks I don't usually do such as clearing out the gutters and removing the built-up algae from the pond. Lovely views of the hills, city & scenery kept us going
05.01.2022 An epic wippersnipping job I did today, where the difference my work can make is obvious. Definitely will be a work in progress getting this backyard looking nice again. #gardener #gardening #clients #gardentidyup #gardenersofinstagram #gardencleanup #whippersnipping @ Girrawheen, Western Australia
05.01.2022 It's been a few months since I could trim this standard Ficus, as have had other more urgent jobs this client wanted me to do the last couple of previous visits. Was great to see it looking nice & neat again :-D Plus of course it's again away from the power line which is directly overhead :-o
04.01.2022 A fairy circle I made for a clients grand kids. It's underneath a Weeping Mulberry, which will create the perfect secret garden room in time as the stems all grow down around the area. The inspiration was two halves of a marble table top which were in separate areas of the clients garden. I brought them back together again for a new lease on life, then arranged secondhand bricks (which were also laying around on the property) around the edge to hold them together & make a bigger floor to the area. The client tells me the kids absolutely loved my creation for them
03.01.2022 Received this msg from a very grateful client yesterday... 'Thank you Ben you've done an awesome job. Made me so happy coming home today' Happy feels!
03.01.2022 A garden clean-up I did today. One of the many reasons why I love my job- cleaning up, uncovering & discovering what is underneath the weeds & debris. The joys of seeing a garden as it once was again. What I have dubbed 'Archaeological Gardening'
03.01.2022 Creating new gardens for an older lady client. The front yard will be cottage/flowers/colours, which will predominantly comprise of Roses and Geraniums. The back we'll convert into a native garden. As you can see by the pics we're relocating some of the existing plants to create cohesive gardens for her. An affordable step-by-step process for the client @ Perth, Western Australia
03.01.2022 These are pics of the front garden of a long-term client of mine which i've been slowly transforming over the last few months (before & after the next stage which I did during yesterday's visit). Also included are pics of how the garden used to look. The client recently moved here, from his old place where I had renovated & transformed the front garden there. Of course I was excited at the prospect of the challenge, and a new garden to play with I brought a number of elem...ents from those gardens (plants, rocks, stones & dead branches) with the intention to create an even better garden for him. It's quite exciting to bring to life the visions in my head that I had when I first laid eyes on his new garden NB:- ALL the 'bushes' in the before pics are still there, i've just altered their shape/form to suit the new garden style What do you think about my new master piece and how it's coming along? @ Gosnells, Western Australia, Australia
02.01.2022 Yesterday we replaced the missing plants (which had either been stolen or died). I'm hoping that my choice of replacement plants last a bit longer than my predecessors does. I think my choice is more visually aesthetic, more suited to the conditions & less sought-after by the local plant thieves Fingers-crossed
02.01.2022 A nice shot of the Cactus landscape garden bed I created in one of my clients gardens.
