Ben Richmond will be going head to head with Jamie Hayward in a 10km row whilst young guns Jack Auton will be up against Orin Ball in a gruelling 400cal assault bike event. 03.01.2022 5 tips to help with your training! 1. Mix it up routine is the enemy. Practice new movements. Bike, row, run, swim, gymnastics, Olympic lifts, reps, loads, intensity. Get creative with these elements of fitness. Test yourself every 3-4 weeks to measure your progress. My tests I use are a 2km row for time and max pull-ups ( you can use a band if you need). Guaranteed these are better numbers to go by than scale weight! 2. Be consistent. We all get busy, it’s easy to use tim...e as an excuse. I aim to do some form of physical activity every day. My crazy busy days might only be a less than 10 minute session. Hit it with intensity! 3. Don’t let fear hold you back. We all have to start somewhere. Start slow, light and build on it, it’s the accumulation of smaller steps that allows you to take giant leaps with your training. Don’t compare yourself, don’t get caught up with all the social media rubbish that gets posted by the wanna be next top models! Stay focused on what you are doing. 4. Embrace being uncomfortable. I often go to the dark place during my training sessions, I’ve heard the voice telling me to stop a million times. Learn to push through that, the end result is a feeling you’ll want more of! You are not only training your body but also your mental strength. 5. Nutrition. The confusion of what’s good and what’s not can be overwhelming. Over the years I’ve experimented with lots of diets, calorie counting etc. My tip.. Keep it simple, keep your food real, avoid processed foods. I’m not strict with my eating, I enjoy my food. I eat lots of meat, veggies, nuts, some fruit and minimal sugar. Eat to perform! @trueprotein See more
