08.01.2022 REMEMBRANCE DAY | Today we remember our namesake Athol Donald Ewington. Athol was serving in the Royal Australian Navy in WWII on the HMAS Canberra I when it was hit by the Japanese and sunk in the Battle of Savo Island (as pictured). Athol was on the 4" gun deck when the ship was blown up and was seriously wounded. He was just 18 years old, in a very bad way and so far from home. He was transferred between a number of different ships military hospitals and was eventually sent home on special leave before being able to finish his service. He lived for the rest of his life with the shrapnel from the attack still in his body, which caused him much grief but he never once complained. Athol passed away in November 2014. Lest we forget.

We have done a little revamp of our business model to reflect our current values and have decided that going forward we will only be stocking plant based and vegan products. As always we will only be working with brands that use the highest quality natural and organic ingredients. Bill in the RAAF in New Guinea in 1945, aged 36, and Athol in the RAN on the deck of the HMAS Canberra in the Solomons in 1942, aged 18. #thankyou #lestweforget #anzacday2020
