22.01.2022 Need a reason why to support local business? I bumped into Rob today at Coles, haven't seen him in sometime - but that's just the way time goes. Straight away I think of a post his wife recently posted about Rob volunteering to fight the local fires. I said to him "Good on him for all his work with helping others" and was asking about how to donate a few cases of beers to local volunteer fire fighters, then the reality of it all hit me:... - He has his own business to run (https://www.facebook.com/Goldenpointroofing /) - Has his own family to go home to and provide for - He does this off his own back He explained that he'd work a 10-12 hour day, then go help fight the fires until 3am, get 2 hours sleep then do it all again. He can't just call in sick as he would be letting his staff and clients down. And he does it for nothing. He has done it for years now - for nothing. Rob you are a genuine gentleman and set the bar for what it truely means to be an "Australian". Your sacrifice and attitude is mirrored amongst others you serve with. You are a small business owner supporting your local community in more ways than one. Thanks to all those that do what they can to support local community and businesses.
